Fantastic - I have a hard cover as well as a soft cover of the 184 book that I got from Rich at the BCCI 25th a few years ago and will have to grab of one of the limited 188 books as well.

That teaser of the Buckmaster 2.0 sounds interesting.

Sorry have to run. My blood pressure just shot way up.

I've got a Gun & Knife Show coming soon, is there a quick way to know if an M9 was made by Buck?

Look forward to the book!

Books can be shown and discussed, as it is a Buck knife, but no mention of selling or pricing in open Buck forum. If Buck store, or Buck licensed dealer stocking them it can be mentioned they are for sale there. Just to be to letter of rule, if it will be for sale in Buck store then it can be stated. 300Bucks

my fault Sir. apologize for opening that door. i was assuming it would be sold by buck online store or maybe an bladeforums supporting buck knife authorized dealer so no rules violations. if not id get a google it type answer. ill be more careful how i ask in the future.

Rich, A lot of the recent dust up on the SEAL/ Buckmaster postings here is all about the point that was the 184 made at the request of the Navy and/or was it issued by them. As is well known Special Operations Units could outfit themselves will small inventories of specialized weapons as they chose. As an example I know of one Green Beret Team that carried WWII grease guns in country in central highlands.
I know it will likely be in your book , but to put this' out of kilter' discussion to rest here on the forum could you give a clear listing of facts or a precise paragraph of your findings that you feel tie the development of the 184 for use by SEALS and/or SOG's . And end this subject of was it or wasn't it. I would appreciate that...........Let me add I do not intend his answer to be a opening for him to be called to defend his book or create a long thread by other members. 300Bucks

Yes on the well deserved closed thread. I put some cool info. Quick facts. The SEALs ( Team Three to be exact) requested a knife in a bar called Dooley McKusklys in 1984, The anchor system was draw on a bar napkin Mickey Finn took napkin and The late Bob MacDonld worked away. (Mickey and Harry Camphuysen) were making silencers for the SEALs since the 70’s and they both owned a Company called Qual-A-Tec together ! Fast fwd a bit The US Navy SEALs were issued the BuckMaster in 1985 the number was 2500 to be exact. Matter of fact the knife on front cover shows #1 of 6 SEAL Prototype on the blade. Commander Tom Coulter of SEAL Team 3 created requested the what became the BuckMaster and drew on that bar napkin. Also name PHROBIS is all from Him! The Commander kindly signed a page for me to be inserted in my limited edition M9 book and he in his own words typed 2 pages about PHROBIS and his ties to Mickey in my E&E, CUK and MFK chapter 8.PRETTY cool stuff! It should be noted that Commander Coulter was a SEAL since President Kennedy created the Green Berets( Special Forces) and the SEALs in 1960’s and was In UDT when they converted to SEALs. The Commander retired in 2001 as Executive Officer from SEAL Team 6! In his Command he is VERY proud of NEVER having lost one of his sailors under his Command! Recap 1985 The BuckMaster 2500 units were issued by Commanders Coulters request and 1989 the CUK Combat Utility Knife 250 units were tested but not officially issued to the SEALs of Team 3 and a few for Team 6! If BuckMaster was never made the Venerable M9 would of never been made either. The front cover of “M9 Bayonet the Authorized History” I have Captain Mykel Hawke’s personal Green Beret he had worn on his last Combat Command in 2011. The Captain was one of the first soldiers in 1987 to receive the M9 back when he was as he likes to say “ a young greenie beanie”. The Captain is an amazing warrior and ya all should google him. Matter of fact his Family is on the most recent “Off Grid” magazine! I was asked recently why would I have him sign the page since he didn’t work for the BUCK or PHROBIS Companies. I stated “consider HIM a tester of the M9”. Thx

Awesomes news since the first book!
Congrats!
One question regarding the book.
Since the regular soft cover version is largely black and white,
Would the downloadable electronic version be in color
Exactly like the special autographed edition,
presuming there would be one?
And what about having a hard copy pdf formatted cd-rom version of both books in the future?
Just wondering...
