machete

I am still a fan of the Camilus BK line. I have been watching them and they have gone WAY down in price over the last few months. I don't know if I will get any KBAR BK's.

Someone said a year ago that I should be on the Tramontina payrole since I post so much about them. Well they may be right!

More Tramontina porn

Aguilar is the real deal. Peruvian Special Forces-Survival Expert. He uses Tramontina (mine to be exact in his hand). Thats Fer De Lance Snake blood on it from our little encounter.

Snakes will try to get away if they can rather than chase you. I have heard that the Fer De Lance will only be aggressive if you are in its nesting area when it has eggs on the pile. I have never experienced this though. The one that got chopped here was looking for a get away until we hosed a bright light on it then chopped it. It was in the middle of our camp area in the middle of the night. One guy nearly stepped on it in the dark and we couldn't take the chance it would stay gone. A bite from one is an immediate evac situation and then you would still end up with a lot of tissue damage.

I was watching a show on venomous snakes and they showed pics after someone had been bitten by a Fer De Lance. NASTY looking :barf:.

Well the Tramontinas are on their way. I couldn't decide , so I got a couple of them. An 18" and a 14" bolo style. Thanks bearthedog

Tramontina says they won't import the orange handles to the U.S.. If anyone finds out different let us know. Mike

Damn! For a minute I thought "Turkey" was a code word for some village lowlife dude! So you can imagine how large my eyes were when I read that it took 3 whacks to finish him off! LOL!!

Consider a Woodmans Pal Machete LC-14-B or a Nepalese Kukri.

I actually looked for the orange handled one and they didn't have it. I guess that explains it. But for $5.99 and free shipping I can live with a wood handle, till you sneak the orange ones in. lol

The Mexican hardware maker Truper sells orange handled machetes in several lengths in most of the farm stores around this area of the country. They also sell axes, picks, and "striking tools." I have a 20-inch model that cost me $5.99 about a month ago.

Thank all you guys for your valuable input. The Tramontinas arrived , now all I have to do is put an edge on them. They look like they will do a splendid job in cutting down all the corn stalks at the end of harvest as well as providing Turkey protection (lol)

I know your prolly thinking that the Tram's are really thin now that you have them in hand, thats what I thought.

Trust me, those things will take a crazy wicked beating. I've used my 14" bolo on hardwoods of all flavors, lumber and even some electronics (don't ask!) and it just soaks up the abuse and asks for more.

Yall need to get your order in early with Bear for orange handle machetes from Peru. He's going down with us in July and should have plenty of room to bring back a couple hundred or so to give away to all of you :D
