MAD DOG Update #4?

I like the part about the truth is somewhere in the middle. I find that's the case, even with my ex-wife! I certainly believe that's the case here.

My father taught me three rules to arguing:

1. Make sure it's worth the time and effort.

2. Make sure you can win.

3. Make sure you have a worthy opponent.

Those three questions tend to limit your arguments.

Hey Steve,
Just a few quick things and I'm back to bed.

1) I didn't call you ridiculous, I was saying the notion that something wasn't published so it doesn't exist is rediculous. Looks like we both misunderstood the points we were trying to make on hard chrome.

2)Quote - "Would you rather have a coating that allows more rust but allows you to see it better, or a coating that prevents it better? Your alternatives have their merits, but they are not convincingly better for all situations. I submit that there is no right answer in every case...."

Does hard chrome prevent rust better than an oxide coat? Yep. But when rust does happen (and it will), I would rather have rust that I can see and remove instead of rust creeping under a tough, abrasion resistant, non see-through coating. I agree with the last parts of the quote. There is no right answer for every case. And yes, Titanium coatings and oxide finishes ARE used more than hard chrome on handguns.

3) I never said I didn't get along with Mad Dog. That might have been someone else.

I'm going to bed! I hate having a fever.
