The Micarta on this one and the larger 610 Rukus began to darken up almost immediately just from handling after I scrubbed both knives extensively. They've both gotten a bit blotchier since, but they've each got a lot of years and miles behind them, so they're gonna look the way they look and I'm really fine with that. I suspect they'll soon resume their former darker appearance as they both get carried and handled a lot.

The bead is mostly vintage Westinghouse canvas Micarta with Jade G10 ends capped with the same Micarta and copper separators and tube.

Here are a couple of my favorites; vintage gray ghost paper with vintage emerald paper lines, and vintage Westinghouse ivorite onlays. The onlays on the Sanji actually function as an over travel stop for the lockbar. Pretty dang cool.

Thanks--I do too! I really like JHue's work and have accumulated a number of his beads in the last few years. His stuff is pricey, but the workmanship, design, and materials are all top shelf. His beads are mostly on the large side, so they need to go on bigger knives. Fortunately, I favor both.

It's the Spyderco Military2 CruCarta. That big-ass bead makes it look like a PM2, no?

Edit: The knots are double-wide large diamonds, which contribute to the illusion.
