my frn chaparral , originally the plan was for fat carbon fiber, I even posted a poll on what type of scales thin or contoured.well that was an itchy debacle that ended in failure. I already had my homemade counterbores made and i figured I haven't seen any micarta chaps so ,I proceeded to hack my 3/4" stock to a heavy 1/8". I'd send em your way,but during my fat carbon debacle I think I trimmed the liners, so the scales wouldn't fit another knife. I can't even make another set because of that.
