Thius joke was a spur-of-the-moment thing by Spark. Yes, we all took off on it because it was downright silly, and it spiraled almost out of control.
And the oxymoron of using the most urban lanuguage for the most non-urban subject makes me laugh.
I for one, hate the gangsta thing, too. When I was 19, I had a close friend killed in a case of mistaken identity by these types of a**holes. We were in the wrong place, wrong time. It took me a long time to deal with holding my friend, who was convlusing but already dead, and trying to get him to "wake the hell up!" because I wanted him to still be alive -- badly. That kind of thing never, ever leaves you. It stays forever.
Members here must understand that we tend towards sarcastic humor/good-natured ribbing in this forum - all meant without disrespect.
However, Jeff H makes a valid point. Even if we do not agree with some who think this is not funny, their feelings are legitimate either way and we have no business telling them how they should feel, nor devalue their feelings because of it. When we do that, we move from humor into disrespect.
