I have this friend...... turned me on to this stuff and all I can say is "Wow".
Used it in my 3" XM (was in my pocket when I saw him) and have used it in some of my guns with more exacting tolerances. Never have gotten results like this before.
I will ask him for more detail and see If/how to obtain and share that information here for those interested.
If this description makes any sense, the application of two(2) tiny "hypodermic drips" to my XM 3" pivot made the knife operate like it was floating in a viscous miniscus (just made that up) the blade operated more smoothly but with zero effort, it flipped open with no friction and has remained that way since the application.
I know, why get us all excited before you have the details on availability..... call me a tease but you know I will find out:)

I checked out the company website. HighTech stuff. Love this particular applicator of this amazing lubricant.

Oh you're BAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!! ;) I gotta know where I can get some of this stuff to try!!!! I'm very happy with Slick 50 but I'm always open to trying new stuff!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads-up!

Looks like silicone oil. Trying to find it on their website so we can buy it and try it! Could you score some samples for us?

would be great if we can get our hands on this as well:D. keep us updated on it's longevity if you notice it drying up earlier or later than other lubricants and the such

Ever try Weaponshield? Comes in a similar applicator. Plus it smells like cinnamon! It's what I use on my pivots.

Love that applicator style. I do want to get some time with this stuff and do a take-down before I give it my complete .
Did not want to keep it a secret, never know somebody might post, "Oh Yeah been using that for years" ;)

I like Tuf-Glide, but am always up for trying something different and seeing the results.

Not years...but almost a year now...it comes re-bottled for Diawa...used it on my fishing reels and now my knives...slicker than snail snot:D

Thanks. Found the Daiwa stuff. You think it's the same, just repackaged?

May very well be, did some searches (thanks to your direction) makes sense, reels would be a great complimentary purpose. The pics I found there are some similarities but some differences in the applicator. May be a different iteration but same product genesis.
Good stuff , in reading the possible description it sounds right and makes all the more stoked to have found it.

Hey! How come you didn't tell us about this stuff if it turns out to be what we think it may be if it is. It. Huh?

Quite honestly...it never occurred to me. I have been experimenting with it on my ZT 0560/0561 and my CRKs and they seem to fly open now. I've done some other things to all those knives so it was kind of hard to just attribute it to the lubricant. I'll try it in my new Manix xhp and see if I garner the same results.

Well I just ordered 2 bottles of the Daiwa reel oil from a fishing supply warehouse. We'll see what happens. Love the needle applicator on the bottles and the protective cap so I can have a bottle in my backpack.

What sort of oil do you guys use on the blades themselves to protect it? And is it necessary or is it ok to just leave them spot clean dry?

Thank you,
Hans

I just wash/wipe mine and dry it. Never have put anything on them because I am as likely to cut food as anything else.
WD-40 or any moisture displacing type of lube would be fine but I've never seen any ill effects of just leaving the blade alone.

What about olive oil or mineral oil?
