Magic in a Lubricant....

Do you guys take apart your knife to apply the oil? Do you apply it just on the pivot or other places as well?

I've currently got Chris Reeve Grease in the pivot & love it. My smoothest XM's will close by itself via gravity pulling the blade down, all I do is unlock it with the blade pointing down then rotating the handle clockwise the blade will stay pointing down until its fully closed. It is way smoother than Extreme Fluoro 100% fluorinated PTFE PFPE grease.

CRK Grease is just rebranded Christo-lube. Ive been using Krytox in all of my knives and ive found out it works better than any other grease

I called the Company (in Texas) turns out their company reps hand these out to corporate clients as "novelties) and apparently do not sell them as a product, why I have no idea.
Dang.
The applicator is very convenient and I was (and still am) impressed with how the lubricant worked (still is after the one minute application)
Maybe we will see a product offering on the Hinderer website sometime in the near future;)

You can buy syringes with needles on almost any medical supply website. Buy some fill it up with your favorite oil or grease and its the same thing

Just ordered a 15cc bottle of Nano oil... I have always just used standard 3-in-1 for all my knives, and it is quite amazing... If the nano oil is a step up, I cant wait to get 'er on my knives :thumbup:

:cool:

Well looky here... I was looking through my grandfathers tool chest that he left me, and lo and behold... look what I found:

Its a bit yellow, not sure if its from age, or just a different product, but holy hell is it some good stuff! I put a couple drops in my Umnumzaan first just to see what would happen, and all was good so I lubed up my XM 18... Before, I had to be rather deliberate about flipping it. But now, it just flies out of the handle!! :thumbup:

Me Likee!!!

Also, just wondering what you think of 3-in-1... comparing this stuff to 3-in-1 is like comparing ice to sandpaper!!! :eek:

Just wondering what other people's experience is with 3-in-1, and if I have been cheating myself out of folder smoothness by using it all these years... :confused:

Either way, Chem Search = :thumbup::thumbup:

Cheers!
:cool::thumbup:
