Magnum Camp Passaround - part deaux!!!

No problem - I think of it as "jumping the line" (buy before you try), not pulling out. :D
Post up a review in here when you have a chance and you'll still be in the running for the GAW at the end.

This shall be my next Becker for sure. I have been lusting after this one for sometime. Good reviews!

I will try and put up my pics and review this weekend. Plus I have to wait and see if Vik forgives me for the couple of dimples I put in the blade.

oh, man - you damaged it?
that was a classic!
a one of a kind!
sent to me by the Toooj himself!

that's it!
for your pennance, you have to go out and batton some wood!
:D

it's cool brother -- I knew there was a chance the knife would come back looking used.

Vik, the 5 arrived while we were in TN. Little damage has been done in the edge are, I'll take pix of it later today. I'll go ahead and pass it to the next BH if you send me the info since most of my review was done during the contest.

good to hear on both counts - and after seeing what they could put up with this weekend I was going to be VERY impressed if there was actual damage to the knife.
I emailed you Clich's address.

Magnum camp came today. Edge ain't as bad as I originally thought. Ill post pics of it as is along with my repair in my review. Man I love this thing....by far my favorite Becker ill tell ya that

Ok i fixed the blade back up and recorded it. For those of you that dont know, the edge got a bit mangled over the course of the passaround and i got it at its worst. Take it easy on me its my first video. Ill add more vids and pics as i complete my review...

Best shot of the edge i could get. The whole repair took about 15 minutes or so with a bunch of passes on the belt sander from 220 grit up to 1000p (about 600 grit), i of course edited the video down.

Been raining here all week and was hoping for a break but may not happen, so ill do my review either tomorrow if I have time with trick or treat, or Saturday rain or shine. vik can you pm me cobras addy so the minute its done I can ship it out. Oh and the hardware is getting a bit rusty and I got a spare set of stainless if youd like me to put those on as a thank you for doing the passaround. Let me know.

PM sent -- and if you want to add stainless hardware, I won't complain, but you already did plenty by fixing the edge.

Ok, i got it done. The video is a long on time but kinda short on review thanks to the weather. I had so much stuff in my mind, but once i was out there, in the heavy snow, well that all flew out the window. So anyways onto my text review and then the video:

bk5: This is now ordinary medium duty camp knife. It handles and is balanced very very well. Its light enough that for an 8" blade, it doesnt weigh down your belt. I love the choil, even though is is way wide for my finger. It does well as a kitchen or grill knife, but i would feel comfortable taking this alone into the woods as well. It really is a great all around blade and would be a great combo with a bk11 or 14. Ok so now onto the video, in it you will hear my thoughts as well as watching me get a fire going in the snow and do a littl chopping, thats about it since the kid with the camera didnt record the first half of it....anyways here goes...
