I find this blade shape way out of place on a 12 in blade like this. I'll wait for them to produce a Magnum Warcraft We-Came-To-Our-Senses.
I'm definitely interested in the Magnum.
I am the OP and 1 year and a couple months later I finally have one of these beasts in my hand. Feels just as good as the 7.5 version and is absolutely razor sharp out of the box.
Pics later.
Nope. Nothing you just said makes any sense to me, as an actual knife user. I don't "tip torque" things with my large machete/chopper knives.Care to elaborate?
I guess "We-Came-To-Our-Senses" refers to Tanto in this case. I'm not a fan of tanto, but contradict to your opinion, tanto tip may be more suitable for a longer blade, 12in in this case.
Tell me, what are you going to use a clip/spear/drop point tip for on a 12 inch blade? There is no way you can use the tip of the 12in blade for any fine works doesn't matter what it's shaped at, any small movement in the handle will translate to large movement at the tip. So might as well make is as strong as possible with a tanto tip, which gives you more options.
Not to mention that the longer the blade is, the higher the torque your blade is subjected to especially towards the tip. With tanto point, the full blade thickness can extend towards the end of the blade where it may be subjected to the most torque.

Just physics, make sense?

Nice Bravodelta! How does the big one feel in hand, balance wise?
UCPOPO,
It is definitely NOT light and fast, like a fighter. It seems front-heavy. It feels MUCH heavier than the 7.5" Warcraft even though the handle is exactly the same and only 4.5" of additional blade length. The blade is slightly taller than the 7.5" which I did not expect. To me, it seems like a compact middle-weight chopper, which is what I was looking for. For the Busse crowd, I would put it between a B10 and B11, but feels more "weidly" (opposite of un-wieldy LOL) than a Scrapyard 1311 and 1111 and easier to carry on the hip or pack (I have them all). Possibly my best compairson is a lighter BRKT Bravo III, which is just too darn heavy for such a small package, but has devastating chopping power if you have 18" arms.
So far, i like it. It is definitely built very very well for sub $250 3V knife with a respectable sheath and a very very sharp factory edge. My B10 and 1311 and 1111 were all fairly dull as I have come to expect from Busse and Kin.
For the money (and availability, one stock builds up in the supply chain), it seems like a no-brainer for me. The tanto tip, which I know is a sore issue around here, is very well executed and stabby. Like someone mentioned above, I am not sure how having a more traditional tip on this thing would make it more or less useful. However, I continue to wait for a B13 LOL.
Thanks for the posting the comparison pics. Slightly disappointed to see that the handle is the same length as the Warcraft, was expecting the handle to be longer on the Magnum as CS catalog would have one believe. The slightly short handle is my only complaint on my Warcraft, other than the "gimmicky (imho)" tapered tang, made the blade unnecessarily tip heavy. Short handle and smooth scales are not exactly best match with tip heavy blades; can see why CS crews used lanyards with the Magnum in their demo videos. Btw, does the Magnum also has tapered tang?
Bang for buck wise, smoking hot as always from CS. Now just need to wait for the price to settle a bit...

Off topic- I did get the opportunity to scoop up an AK-47 field knife for $150 delivered with some weird birthday coupon from another vendor. I think at $180 a little steep but the prices will eventually settle down.
You gotta start a thread about the AK47 field knife and tell us what you think. I've been really eyeing that particular model.
