Ok - Here's a question that I'm sure someone here has an accurate answer to.
I have a friend in England, & I want to send him a small pocket knife
( Kershaw Chive). What are the rules governing this in England? Will it make it thru customs? Not worried about the carry aspect - he doesn't plan on carrying it.

I don't want to get my friend in trouble
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Much.

I wont tell you to lie,but be creative on your custom forms and leave off the KNIFE word and you probably wont have a problem. He won't get in any trouble if it gets snagged by nosy customs officers.

You can send any knife except autos flicks and gravity also swords are now banned unless get this they have a straight blade instead of curved we have real sensible laws in the UK LOL and even then it would only get confiscated as it be imposible to prove he orderd it or that he knew it wasnt legal. If you think about it if you didnt like someone you could send them a bag of drugs just to get them charged if that was the case.
Ive had a Rukus marked as a $20 knife that got opened and it went straight through the problems are with the price if its over $35 we pay tax and handling so best too under declare by a few $ as 99.9% of those whoiopen them wouldnt know a $500 knife from a $2 one.
AO are a grey area though some get through some dont so its just a chance you take but your freind will have zero trouble with the police.

I live in Europe and mail and receive knives frequently. As piglipsticker mentioned, do not use "knife" anywhere on the paperwork. Call it a "tool." Better yet, write down that it's a "second-hand tool." That'll make it more likely to bypass any customs scrutiny.
