Major Announcement From Emerson

Bad news... but unfortunately, not very surprising in our current political & social climate. The failures of gun control advocates in direct assaults on our constitutional rights seem to have led them to try other approaches, like intimidation. That's what this series of attacks on Emerson Knives and Mr. Emerson personally sounds like... attempted intimidation. Like my sig line says, I Support Emerson Knives... and Mr. E.'s freedom of speech about his opinions and points of view.

Mr. Emerson,
There are many other credit card processors that are knife & Gun friendly. I suggest you shop around. You know a lot of people in the firearm and knife industries.

I had one contact me about six ,months, but since I make mostly culinary knives PP hasn't given me any stick yet, so I thanked the gentleman that called. If you are interested? PM me and I'll dig around.

First thanks for making an excellent knife, I own 5. Even more over thanks for making the Emerson Tool as I am a nut for easy to use, easy carry multipurpose knives. I have accomplished many thing in the field with your original tool, which I prefer. I understand where you stand, and having read ALL your post on BF, or at least those in the archives, realize you have a rightful opinion. One which I respect, but paypal is no different than your company. You have rules you enforce. You take stances that you feel best serve your company. Example the protection steps you took regarding anyone modifying your knives, one that is 100% your right if you feel that way, but one that affects many here who enjoyed the "wave effect" on various blades. I would welcome you offering that service as the actual "wave" appears to belong to you.

Paypal serves MANY companies, many of which can not, for the same reasons you list support guns. It is business related, Paypal can not affect their employees any more than you would affect yours. Step back and think of a toy company using paypal who allows ads for guns. Please understand first the respect I have for you as a person and the joy I have owning your knives and some of your collaborations. Realize that I own many Guns, and knives and eat red meat. LOL. And try to respect my opinion as I have yours. And in the end maybe an IRS agent just wanted a non Emerson waved ? NOT ! certainly they are targeting you, and that is totally wrong, but as you know, standing for anything these days , exposes the knees. And that is where good guys like you get attacked, low and hard. Hopefully someone will take note of this and realize they too can be watched. Good luck. I myself have been audited 4 times in 7 years, results same as yours.
 
Liberals, Lawyers, Lobbiests, and Legistators (local, state, and federal) are the biggest enemies to business, free enterprise, people, and what were american ideas that made this country great.

President & Formor California Governor Ronald Reagan had many funny thing to say about goverment, goodle his quotes, and ask why people memories are so short? Reagan was a genious IMHO.

I don't think liberals will classify eBay or PayPal as liberal or anti conservative.

Paypal/eBay is doing what they think generates them the most coin and keeps their stock price up. As publicly traded company they better do that or their stockholders will get nasty.

If this is true then why do they believe being anti gun is more profitable than pro gun? Does it make them appeal to more people? Does it avoid costly legal trouble?

No matter what the exact reason since their only motivation has to be profit this got to be how one can influence them. Vote with customer dollars and let them know directly why. Voices in blade or gun forums will probably go unheard. So emailing and writing them should be better.

In addition one could vote with shares of the company to which direction it will take. If that is too costly buy at least one share. That will give one the right to attend share holder meetings and make your voice heard there.


*Audits
That sucks. I hate how they can waste your time again and again even if everything you do is perfectly legal. They should compensate if they don't find anything. Every time they repeat an audit and don't find anything the compensation should multiply.
Until then is there a way to sue them?

Are there any indications that non conservative are audited less or are there some extreme cases as well?
 
I also have the right to discriminate against private business, and do so. I don't have PayPal and won't because of this issue. Amen Mr. Emerson. You have my support.
 
Looks like the current administrations "Operation Chokehold" is expanding. Harassing a knife company for having gun or fighting content. Absolutely ridiculous. I could see it coming.
All the conspiracies about Obama being a socialist appear to be true by the actions of his administration. A slow take-over of the public by financial terrorism. I believe Jerry Doyle called it "Creeping Incrementalism". I could go on and on about this topic from the Affordable Care Act being a "Tax", to the recent BATF decision to ban M855/SS109 ammunition.
David Axelrod's master plan of bringing in a young, fresh faced candidate to be the "Puppet President" for America's
Left-Wing Aristocrats has worked. My prediction: The current administration will charge all Americans a "Clean Air Tax". Their point being that the EPA maintains environmental standards so it has to be maintained and funded by each and every individual tax payer. On and on, and on, and on.:mad:

I think you mixed it up a bit.
The harassment due to gun content was done by ebay/PayPal and not by the government. EbayPaypal, a very capitalistic and profit oriented company and not socialist. At least I hope so and their stockholders probably make sure as well that ebay/PayPal does what's the most profitable. Or are you hinting that they are secretly controlled by Obama?

The thing the IRS did was doing more audits because of donations to some political Organization which might have disguised itself as some selfless non profit entity and thus trying to evade taxes.
I hope they apply the same scrutiny to similar democratic organizations in disguise and all their donors.
In my opinion one audit should be fine and even that not for little amount guys who got tricked into donating. They didn't know about the possible tax fraud.
But 8 audits is clearly harassment because somebody didn't like the political view. :rolleyes:

all works out for those involved at EKI. If I remember correctly, CRKT had "Federal" problems also.

This country needs more people like you. Fight the good fight, and always stand for what's right even when you have to stand alone! Thanks for sharing this injustice with us and please keep us informed of future developments.

If this country can survive 2 more years, I think/hope we can turn this whole situation around. It pains me to see this giant mess we were dragged into. This country was founded on freedom, and until people realize that its being stripped away at every opportunity by some unsavory "people", things will get no better.
