Major Custom Project Announcement

Hi guys,

Just a quick update here. Darrel is working diligently on the prototype designs and we expect to have prototypes over the holidays as planned all along. Right on track in other words

Regarding the waiting list: several unnumbered Gemini knives still available for ordering but they are going quicker than even Darrel, Chuck and I expected. In other words - if you are interested in a Gemini w/o serial number don't delay!

Thanks so much for all your support of our (all of ours) Gemini Balisong project,

Kevin

I saw an artical in the Scientific American (Jan 2001) which may be of interest to Mr. Ralph and Mr. Gollnick, and Sniperboy. (others too I'm sure)...

Title: "The Mystery of Damascus Blades" ... a MUST read for future Gemini Damascus owners.

?? Will the Damascus in the Gemini be "welded" or "wootz" Damaascus as defigned in this artical?? Seems like a big difference in internal structure.

The artical has a picture of a Dagger from Mughal India which was made in about 1585 Gold hilt with emeralds + rubies. The blade is of more interest to me than the fancy hilt + handle.

It's a 6 page artical which goes into a lot of detail.

I'd love to hear feedback on it.

Thanks... John in NH burrrrrrr....

John the damascus will be pattern welded. This is not wootz metal. Wootz is a different process.

The stainless damscus will be Mike Norris ladder pattern damascus. I have chosen this damascus because it cuts great first of all , and it fits the style flow of the knife.

For those who order My damascus:
It will be forge welded carbon steel damascus.
It will cut and strut like a good carbon steel.
