I haven't seen anyone talk about a maker challenge in awhile. There have been a lot of new makers over the last year and thought a new maker challenge might be cool. Thoughts?

I'd like to see another too, something geared towards practical W&SS use. I'd love to see the makers work on something that would cleanly and consistently slice the limes for my gin tonics...you know...in a survival situation. :)

There has been a challenge in the works since June in the outdoor gear forum, been taking a while but still going on.

I am in for another challenge. I like the idea of the practical W&SS stated by JCavSD.
Any ideas on knife styles. I say something bigger than a Bushcraft and smaller than a Camp Knife.

Chris - Cut lime with one of your warnies tonight. Thanks for that!

So you're thinking a general purpose knife...maybe 4.5 to 5.5 inch blade? Maybe leaning more towards slicing? I do love a slicey trailing point.

Yes, I like the idea of leaning more toward the silicing capability.

Puukkos! Puukkos! Puukkos! Puukkos! Puukkos!

Seriously, would love to see a version with traditional geometries (4" handle, 3.5" blade) and modern handle materials (micarta, G10).

Four so far! I think something larger than a bushcrafter and smaller than a camp knife sounds great.

I vote on something around a 5" blade used for bushcraft and food prep. This time of year we might want to focus more on food prep!

This isn't going to turn into a camp kitchen knife challenge is it?

I hope not! That was actually a joke considering the temps. I wouldn't even know where to start with a kitchen knife.
