Maker challenge?

Id agree, just a bigger utility knife made for slicing!

As a reminder here's a link to the Bushcraft Knife Challenge results: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/828712-Bushcraft-Knife-Challenge-results!!! A few of these knives might come close to fitting into the current challenge concept. I'm seeing more length, less emphasis on woodworking/carving, relatively thin, but still stout out enough to batton through a difficult chunk of wood. And it should come with with the winning lottery numbers stamped into the spine...and be magic. Go!

Sounds like fun, count me in! So, a belt knife big enough for camp chores, slicey enough for food prep and bushcraft? 4-5" bladed woods utility knife?

Another challenge, eh? I'd be interested to see what can be made. What type of challenge will it be? Similar to the bushcraft knife challenge?

You'll find out when they get to your house. About time you put a batch through the ringer. :)

I just saw that it is stickied. I am in for this one. Now I just need to decide what knife I want to enter.

Doesn't look like too many makers are interested?

How many is a good number? Who would like to judge? It would be nice I think to have multiple judges to get different views.

I think 15 makers 3-4 judges that are close and cant meet and do the judging?

What is our expected time frame. I do not want to be rushed, but I don't want this to drag out till end of summer or fall either.
I will say that to accommodate camping season, lets enter the knives in say late March or early April. That way there can be outdoor testing in fair to good weather.

I think I have my knife picked out, just have to wait for my steel order to be processed.

Chris
