Makers Mark......Too Big For This Knife?

Made this a couple weeks ago for a fellow forum friend who wanted a knife similar to my shop knife model. Ever since I finished it the makers mark bothers me, so much that I started another knife. Haven't been able to work in the shop so no progress on the replacement, thought I'd take this opportunity to ask your opinion.....

Does it look too big for this knife? Maybe I wouldn't mind so much if it was on the other side.

Thanks for any help, A very Happy Holidays to you guys!!

If you never mentioned it I would not have noticed. The riccasso area is bold enough to handle it imo.

I'm with you Will, what do I know.

This is the 2nd time using this mark, 1st time was on a big blade and didn't notice it much so I'm not used to seeing it stand out like this.

Thanks Will, Keith,
Dave

It's there to stand out to some degree, right? Looks good to this noob!

I think it works very well on this piece, Dave. Nice knife!

Looks pretty cool on that one. If the profile was anything more traditional in the ricasso area it might look out of place. But, that one is pretty sweet!

Thanks Edro, thanks Mike!

This was also my first tapered tang, made a huge difference in the weight and allowed me to use these big butt stag scales.

Thanks gixxer, you were posting while I was slowly pecking away at the keyboard

Thanks John!

Thanks Richard, looking forward to seeing your wooden tangs!

edited to add pic, on this type knife I may start placing my mark on the edge, to me this side of the blade looks so much better without the mark.

Dave, it's a gorgeous knife, as are all the knives you've ever posted. I don't think the logo is too big, however, I am not particularly fond of the font used for your initials. I guess it's probably the "D" being wider at the top than the bottom that bothers me. That said, I'd be mighty proud to be able to make a knife like that.

I like the side with the mark better....well, actually I like BOTH sides. It is a very nice looking mark and the knife is superb. Good job!

Man, that last pic sure shows the hamon bigtime! The soft steel looks like the underside of a thundercloud and the hardened steel is the clean air underneath. I am gonna save that pic cause it is sick.

I dont know, I think you should scrap it and send me the knife so that I can dispose of it properly. No honesty, that is a really nice Knife, and I don't think the maker's mark takes anything away from it either. I need to work on my hamons....

WAY TOO BIG. So it will not bother anyone I will just send you my address and I will take it off your hands!:D Seriously, GREAT KNIFE.

It's not too big. I like the fact that your mark, and the knife itself, is a little different from the usual. Very nice work!
