Maker's marks

My initials D.E. back to back....in the form of an arrowhead. My older marks were also my initials back to back, but normally raised within a sunken diamond shaped background. I am not prolific, so you will not run into these very often:rolleyes::D

i have been searching for a while now and seem to end up lost every time...my wife's great uncle had it and when he passed away it ended up on my side every day quite proudly... i would like to know more about it and who made it... thank u for your time... i figured a few pics would help

i though this thread would be about making the makers marks or putting them on the knives,
but its great to see all the different marks!

So I am not going to be using a forge for knife making, I've got a company to outsource all of my water jet cutting.
But I am wondering how I am going to be able to get my company logo's on their. They won't do enrgaving, and I
am thinking, will I have to hand engrave my logo on their, or is it worth it to get it laser engraved...
Any input?

As per that link
...famed Knifemakers' guild member of the '70's...

yes... it is... thank you... a red watson...

According to Levine's Guide to Knives and their Values (4th edition) p431

WATSON, QUINTON (RED) (1920-1975) Made his first knives in US Navy in World War II
Upland CA Worked 1969-1975
Watson Hand-Crafted Hunting Knives
Mark: Shield logo.

So I am not forging my knives, and I need to get my mark on the blade, what is the best way to go about this?

Dymo tape or magic marker.

Seriously, acid etch is one way early 20th century knife makers did it. Wax and engrave then apply acid or use acid script solution or stencil or apply acid script to tape and attach to surface. Engraving with electric stylus pen - can look ratty unless you practice a lot first. Cold stamping is easy too but can easily look 2nd grade and make other permanent errors.

Before you try, ask the question on one of the knife-maker forums on this site and/or do some online forum searches for more details.

Hello all,
Can anyone name this maker from Hurley New Mexico. Please see my post below for a link that works
Thanks for any help on this.

Here's mine, quite new. It's 'Au', for my last name. There are a few variations.

Here's my mark:

It's an A (Alexander) a J in the shape of a note (Johannus is my middle name) and the tail of the note shapes an N for Noot. In Dutch the word Noot (my last name) is pronounced as Note (as in musical note) and means as much.
