Making a small cutlers' steady

Hey, seeing this thread again makes me wonder whatever happened to pimple squeezer. I wonder if the bow fishing craze is over and what he is becoming now. Ah youth. so many roads
 
I just looked in my library of knife books and found the specs of this steady in the book "The Complete Book of Pocketknife Repair" by Ben Kelly, Jr. It is exactly the same as the one photographed in this thread with the exception of the holes bored in the top near the back. It is a drawing Mr. Kelly put in his book with all the measurements included.
 
I have had my Great Lakes Stiddy now for a month or so and love it. It is much better than the other I had as this is properly heat treated. The finish is good, design with different diameter holes good, weight very good...in all...a very nice design and well executed. I would buy again if needed.

pimpinsquee changed his handle to "J.McDonald Knives". That is the name he is going to sell his knives under.
He is in the process of moving to Corpus Christi.
He upgraded his membership to a knifemaker status.
He still doesn't make knives yet.
