  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Making introductions....New Kabar Coating? Meet Jasco Paint and Epoxy Stripper!

Got some on my nose last time. Yep, stupid fly was buzzing my face and my reflexes were faster than my brain.

Looks really good, though. I'm glad to see the etch will last.

You mean the one on your nose??? :D

Still polishing while watching Netflix. Got some grind marks, but NBD. It's WAY shinier than the last pic. Will keep buffing while I watch another episode of Battlestar Galactica Season 5. Pics with handles back on to follow....

looks good, man.

mine is sitting on the workbench in the garage with etchant on the BK&T logo right now as i type. i was thinking i was going to have to do side one for 2 days, then flip and do side 2 for 2 days. but maybe i won't wait so long, that looks like a good laser etch as-is. maybe just a day on each side...

thanks for being the guinea pig!

Really like the color of the blade after the stripping. That thing looks fantastic. Please do not do this to a 17. I can not afford another knife right now and I am champing at the bit for one! :D

I hate to be THAT guy but I don't like it. Thanks for this thread. I was debating on getting one or not but I love the saber on my 16. Nice work. Just not my cup of tea seeing it stripped.

I'm that guy too. I was holding off doing anything major to my FPR because I thought I would replace it as a User with the FFG16...but it's now clear to me that I won't. Time to get the FPR a lil bit Ogre'd up!

No offense Tanner..You did a great job on it and I hope u enjoy it for years to come, just not my fave in the looks department. I LOVE my sabre-ground 16!

I could give two craps about how it LOOKS...I plan on cutting with it, not staring at it. And the fact is, FFG is the better slicer and bushcrafter. The MkI has proven that to my satisfaction. I think saber grinds look better too. Now, for a bigger blade I like saber/hollow grinds. For medium/small I prefer FFG.

Maybe if it hadFIRST PRODUCTION RUN!!!!!!and an Ethan Becker chicken scratch pasted all over it, they'd like it better? :D

I don't like the fact that mine says First Production Run, I do like Ethan's signature, and I do like the saber grind, but I would like the FFG just as much, minus how much I like Ethan's signature.

How about black on brown handle?

I like the black handles a lot more. I think I'll use my peanut butter grips to try out some mods.
