Mammoth fighter

your work has a regal quality to it (someone probably already said that by now).

Makes me want to show it to a couple of my friends and mentors. Not because I want to do just what you do, but because of the overall skill and artistry that you bring to the work.

Spectacular. It took me a while to see it all. I was mesmerized by the grinds for several minutes. Those must have been fun. When I took in the entire knife I was certainly impressed.

Thats very white mammoth ivory. All the mamoth ivory I'ver seen is light brown to jet black. Never white.

Any comments/critique/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you're doing this at nights and on weekends I suggest you stop doing whatever else you're doing and concentrate solely on knife making - you are THAT good.

Cheers...Pete

Thanks! I doubt that I will be able to match my salary if I make just knives. Knifemaking is my hobby. I enjoy the process.

I was lucky to get a big chuck (about 14 pounds) of really good mammoth ivory about four years ago. Indeed, all other pieces I have are somewhat brownish.
