Mammoth Mondays - because everyone feels extinct on Monday

I love Mammoth. :)

Guys those are gorgeous knives - keep them coming. I do feel a bit 'extinct' myself today (heavy cold, will be in bed for few more days I guess), so this topic is spot on :)

I just picked up this mammoth ivory Michigan Jack. I have been watching it through the GEC production photos, and have never seen any natural mammoth colored quite like it:

ETA: I think I see my knife behind Derek's hand in his photo!

oooooo I've been eyeing up a few different knives with mammoth scales for a while now, just haven't yet pulled the trigger. Now you guys have me drooling all the more. I'll be sure to post one as soon as my wallet and I decide on which one to get.

Absolutely incredible (and probably completely out of my budget). But I did not know that Joel did/does this super cool pattern (loos similar to that case/bose collab knife)

Wow, beautiful! And that is one beefy tang on that main blade.

I am glad that you like it.

Here is a description:

3 7/8" closed

1 3/4" small blades

I would not at all be surprised if Joel got the pattern from Tony. Everyone knows that Tony freely shares his patterns (IMO, part of what makes him The Legend) and I know for a fact that Joel has got patterns from Tony before.

Someone posted about this on another thread here recently, but I want to second it here: Joel makes an outstanding quality knife that for whatever reason is significantly undervalued by the market compared to the quality that you get. Perhaps it is because Joel is so softspoken and not a self-promoter like so many. But I keep thinking that someday folks will wake up and appreciate what a top quality maker he is. And I say that as someone who was ordered and owns custom folders from many of the most well-known and best respected custom makers. I own a couple of his knives and have seen and handled many others, but this one is my favorite of all of the ones I have seen.

That Chamblin is truly a beauty Ken. I appreciate you sharing parts of you collection here. I would love to see it in its entirety.

Chris
