Well, I guess I learned somethin' then. I'da said it was a $120.00 knife tops. Inverted 3 line... who'da thunk it? :)

Mike, didn't you buy another inverted 110 couple of years ago? That was the last 1 that I remember seeing.

No, I bought this one off ebay last year. I wasn't even looking for one, I just came across it. I had to ask the guy to post a couple more photos so I could confirm the stamp. When I saw the new photos I just about jumped out of my chair.

What a great story Mike. Beautiful knife... looks like it just rolled off the line

I would have never thought a minor varriation (like these inverted three lines) would bring so much of a premium. I was following this auction for a few days and had no clue why the bid was that high.. :p

knolage is a 2 edged so-ward as buck110 put it.....
it got high as both had sharp eyes for details
and both knew that it was a scearce veration...
truly i had thought there was such a critter
and said so once to some one and they did not think so
buck never throws any thing away even if it is not
like what they nromanly made
it is use it up not throw it out
makes bucks a hard one to find
a combination between pure custom
and pure identical production
think on it ...
not even Buck can tell you what they made ...

I was not aware that there was that much interest in a minor variation (rarer = $$$, I guess).

Buck_110 was kind enough to point out to me quite a few variations on the different 110's and their variants. (Thank You, Buck_110!) :D

I'm not that fanatical about collecting, but if you're that serious as to collect *every* variation, then that collection definately demands a high-end display!!! ;)

There were no records kept back then, or even now for that matter, on how many of which variation is made. All we can do is give a best guess. If we have concret data on the variations before and after, we can nail it down somewhat. If all variations are guesses, well...
I can tell you that we made about 140K model 110's back in 1972, which is the general timeframe for the inverted three line. Makes you think we would see a lot more but we dont know if this variation was done for a week in 1972or all of 1972 and part of 1971 and 1973. Thats the frustrating part.

It may be frustrating but it also gives us a lot to talk about on this forum. :D
Just imagine if it was all cut and dried.
