It would be great if Schrade had put dates on there blades. Locations would

Yes among other things I am usually full of moisture of one kind or another. Hey Micheal the earrings me and Irving wear ain't none of your business. By the way what kind do you prefer jeeze what is wrong with me. LT PS hey fixer why do you keep bringing up knife content you would think this was a knife forum. I do like the Stab at a joke comment it was like a pun or two thirds of a pun kind of like PU.
 
If our sense of humor ever dries up I know another couple of BF forums that would take us in..

PU is close just add the KE and you would be on the spot. I had better be
careful or I may get a vacuum sealed piece of cat po...err "tootsie roll" in
the old PO box. That may qualify as a biohazard and earn me a visit from
some guys with bad haircuts and absolutely no sense of humor.
 
Codger the specials (company logos etc.) would seem to be the easiest to
start with. There are so many product lines that ran for so long that will be
one daunting task to be sure.

Well now, with your crink chillin, consider this, if you had the financial
records you could find out when those payments were made and get a pretty
good idea when knives where shipped, maybe not made, but when they were
paid for.

If Schrade filed Bankruptcy, all of those records are available online or by
mailing to the courthouse were the bankruptcy was filed.


Just a thought.
 
nope. It would only tell you what transpired in the last fiscal year of operation financially, not a whisper of how many of each of which patterns were made or shipped where. Just gross receipts and debits. Good try though. And I guess it would also depend on the type of bankruptcy too. It was corporate, bank lender forced, liquidation of assets, not reorganization.

What we are hoping will turn up is the actual production records. How many of what were made and shipped when. For a long time back. That's the ticket!
 
china schrade mmmm, bought a sowbelly w sheep horn handle sharp enuff to skin a cat fish in the dark! has held a edge good too as i beat the death out of it! china has got scary good at knives in the past year! The elcheapo rough rider deer slayers and elephant toes are nice both in fit and finish and a darn out of the box arm shaving edge. gotta say the china schrade came sharper than my 3 usa schrades and 1/2 the price. they are what they are non collectable work knives and when ya break it toss it in the dumpster and buy another. I am predominantly buy usa kinda guy !! but admittedly the chineese have begun to learn how to make a real knife. But I bet you its on american swiss or german machinery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

never started anything! how dare insult someone for their opinion on a freaking item. stated my opinion and got called names! i did not cast the first stone buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!. didnt realize you were so insacure over someone saying they were a good work knife and i did say throw away having no collector interest. point in case if you cannot realize some of the public actually does use some knives for work purpose yes real work! and do not choose to use their beloved 50.00+ dollar folders you missed the ship buddy. Reallity check! Theres now way I would take my case bulldog to cut septic tank polyethelene pipe or to cut 2'' metal braid lined hose daily. sorry maybe im not as wealthy to ruin good knives as you guys. I did in no way insult usa or any of our beloved brands crafted from our finest cutlers. but be it as it may I can see how you welcome new members who comment china has got better. I have got nothing but called names and insulted. I have pounds of good german and usa knives boker, case, loveless,etc etc and I would not do them the dishonor of destroying them at work. But why is it such a crime to opinion a good cheap work knife? a knife you can beatup and holds up and not feel any guilt when its gone? yes they do sell! yes the market shows it! so who is lost????????????????????????
