Mandatory weekly Taylor bashing

Keep your friends close, and....

Nah, he actually sounds like a nice guy to extend that offer. If he wanted to be spiteful, he could have just had a "firesale".

I guess I don't blame him for wanting to be a successful businessman, and I think we determined that Taylor had nothing directly to do with Schrade's demise. However, as has been posted here before, which I reiterated a few hours ago, purchasing 3 imported knives for the same price as 1 quality made American is leading to the downfall of American cutlery companies.

Swooping in after a company goes under, and then purposely producing Schrade clones to make a buck will continue to have a ripple effect in the cutlery industry.

Hiding behind the innocent businessman mantra does not get you a free pass.

Still, it was a nice gesture, and I'm thankful that some more history hasn't ended up in a landfill.

Good to have you back, Rich!

Glenn

Welcome to the forum, icemancometh.

LT, thanks for your post. Thanks for making the trip on behalf of Schrade History.

Mr. Taylor, thanks for preserving this part of Schrade History. You have placed it in the proper hands.

Phil

Congrats LT!
That is a great find. I am really happy that Mr. Taylor turned out to be such a gentleman who has an interest in preserving the Schrade history.

I am with you, if he makes some American made knives I will consider buying them, based on their own merits, of course.

And you are right, LT you have no class ;) (kidding kidding!)! But I sure am glad you grace the earth with your presence, and extraordinary efforts! What a windfall for your ongoing research and preservation project! And indeed, what a gesture from the boogieman! It goes to show me what an awful thing ignorance is! I was thoroughly ready to go on hating Mr. Taylor for consorting with the enemy, and I, too, still don't like what he's doing, but I gotta respect him for his actions regarding the documents.. Let us hope he sees the light, and makes some jobs and great knives with and for Americans (and Canadians!)!
I have a request LT; you may know me as that Harness Jack guy, and I certainly am. I am also writing a couple of articles about my favorite pattern, and about punches!!
I have a collection of patents, the drawings and documents,
but while they cover many American punches, I don't have any for Schrade punches. If in fact they exist, it would sure be a welcome addition to what I have. I will gladly send you a nicely organized set if you wish, and I wonder if you would keep an eye out in your perusals for anything to do with the punches that Schrade used? ?
Congratulations on your files!
Charlie
