Mandrake Kryptek Commander

I'd first like to say I totally dig Emerson knives and don't care what they name them one way or the other, but I do think they are overpriced for a liner lock folder with average blade steel compared to the competition at their price point. I think a maximum of $200 would be plenty for theses knives and believe myself and many others would have more chisel ground blades in our pockets if that were the case. Also the new scale in the first post will be a big seller I'd say.

I don't own any Emersons. I wasn't aware it was a requirement to post on your forum. It was a comment on ADVERTISING!

It's not a requirement. However you're posting in a manufacturer specific forum to Emerson. If you want to discuss general knife advertising post in General.

I love Kryptek. It's the most advanced camo system in place IMO, and when hunting I love wearing it. I respect the company and love when the pattern is licensed to use such as on this Commander.

Some as myself have been begging Emerson to expand the line, and I'm glad they did. BTW, the newest version is only a few bucks more than the original pattern making both hard to decide between.

Does EKI have a page, Sticky, on WHY Ernest designs his knives the way he does?

"...until the marketing dickheads become involved."

Yeah, never really understood the need for comments like that. Having been down to EKI, spoken with them on the phone, exchanged emails, and met face to face at a knife show a couple of months ago... there is no basis for derogatory or denigrating language. EKI actually does not do much (if any) advertising at all... if one knows their marketing message, it was likely sought out or spoken of by admirers of their products or those who manufacture and sell them.

I don't get the need --or joy-- that comes from hating on EKI. Just don't buy their knives, don't go to their site, etc... If this is just some general rant against marketing and advertising, then I guess so be it... but EKI is hardly the advertising powerhouse in the knife industry.
^I completely agree with this:thumbup:. If you do not like Emerson knives then simply don't buy them, more for me:D
