Manix 2 Glory

Fantastic knives. Last year I bought a sprint run Stag Arms Manix 2. My primary attraction to it was that I wanted the black hollow ground blade, but to be honest, having a knife that matched my AR-15 was pretty cool too. I carried it daily and absolutely loved the knife. This winter I finally lost the knife. :(

I just ordered a regular black hollow ground Manix 2 that's supposed to arrive today. I'm anxious to have a Manix 2 for EDC again, even if it's not my Stag. :(

I do love that Stag Arms Manix, and I wish I could find another for less than my left kidney. The Stag Arms Manix is actually FFG (full flat ground), not hollow ground, as is the current production Manix 2. In both cases, I think you meant full flat ground.

Thanks for the correction. Yes, I meant full flat ground. Like you, I'd love another Stag, but I can't justify the current price tag. I was very fortunate enough to get the first one right here in the classifieds for $125, which I think was a great price. If I could find another at that price, I'd pay it.

As a big Manix 2 fan, this thread is pretty epic. Hannibal, you need to make a poster with all of those Manixes, I'd hang it on my wall.

LOL! You find me one of those early Manix 2 prototypes, and I'll send you a free poster. :D

All I can say is...

"It Moved"

Awesome Awesome collection. Really. I know the "awesome" gets tossed around, but this truly is.

New Manix 2 came in last night to replace the Stag I lost a few months ago. It feels great to have the Manix 2 in my pocket again. :)

The blacked out FFG Manix 2 is my favorite Spyderco of all time. Simple, rugged, it's just a solid performer.

You guys have some awesome collections and are inspiring me to look for other variations.

Ok, nice, I'm in:

Wow Hannibal and DNA, those are impressive collections!

Cruwear with Putman scales and
S110V LW

May try knifeworks , they are a sponsor I believe , light weight BDS

I only recently started buying "a couple" folders and a few fixed blades for various uses, real and hypothetical. Seeing the collections on this thread makes me feel better about my wanting just one more... but I'm only a beginner, in time I'll probably end up with a drawer full. I just bought my first Manix2, in S110V. It was surprisingly sharp from the factory, I just had to knock off a little burr, it took about a minute. I find that I like a blade around 3.75-3.5 inches long, so I also have recently obtained a Farid K2 in CPM10V, and a Persistence in 8Cr13MoV. The Persistence was a pleasant surprise for the $40 price tag, it easily takes a keen edge. And my first Spyderco is a Delica in ZDP-189, which is my best slicer so far. It's so light to carry in pocket, loose or by clip, I forget it's there.
