Manix 2 gray handle 52100 live

That one looks real nice! I'm surprised they came out with another DLC coated carbon steel in the Manix platform. I didn't see this one coming!

That’s a dark handle. I’ve really been enjoying my 52100 PM2. I really don’t need another one but I missed out on the bhq dlc Manix so I’ll try this one out.

Dam that pic makes it look super tasty!

I have ZERO experience with 52100. Can someone chime in with their insight regarding this steel??

It is a high carbon steel and been around for some time. More wear resistant than say 1095 but still with a fine grain/carbide structure.

So if you want low edge angles and a fine polished edge with ease of sharpening and toughness it is for you.

Hmm..pretty cool.

Wonder if we'll see a PM2, Millie and Para 3 version like BHQ is doing with the Jade series.

Thanks much for the info! This is definitely a steel I would be interested in. Hopefully my tax return shows up soon :D

I don't own anything with this steel but I'm tempted to get this Manix 2, thanks for this.
Does the DLC coating cover the entire blade including under the scales by pivot? I know dumb question.

Not a dumb question, check out Nemos knife reviews on how quickly a pm2 in 52100 can develop rust in the pivot area.

M4, SuperBlues will do that too.
High carbon steels require a little more
TLC.
Spyderco tells you that.

Put a drop of Tuf Glide or oil in your pivot once a week and it will keep that area free and clear of corrosion. I've been using my M4 Millie for close to a year now and everything is patina'd on it, except for the pivot area, which stays lubricated with oil.

I wonder what made them opt for the full liners over the skeletonized liners. Maybe KW got it wrong, but I kind of doubt that.
