Hey guys. I have been researching and looking at pictures and even went to smoky mountain knife works to hold them and I still don't know which one to go with. I got a few Amazon gift cards so I'm going to use it to buy my first "real" edc knife. I've had plenty of knives but none made in the USA or over 30 bucks. Just wondering if you guys have an opinion on which knife I should get. I'd be using it for normal everyday edc stuff. Thanks guys!

Manix 2 lightweight or Delica 4??

If you have held them and still don't know, just go with the one that appeals more visually to you.

You need to consider what your normal edc tasks really are. For me, I like to have a bit larger blade if I am carrying only one knife (more versatility) so I would go with the Manix. However, the Delica is one of my all time favorite knives but I usually carry it in addition to something else and usually pocket clip less (more pocket knife style). If you think that extra blade real-estate is important than Manix it is, but the Delica does pack a big punch and has never let me down.

Have owned many faces of both. If your simply cuttin things get a Delica in one of its many flavors.
I definitely plan on getting both eventually. It'll be a while before the second purchase though.
I have a delica 4, and a g10 Manix 2. I tend to carry the delica more in public or if I'm wearing athletic shorts as it is a really lightweight knife and it is a smaller less intimidating knife. The Manix 2 is a workhorse. And it is very comfortable in the hands. Obviously that is arbitrary depending on your hand size, but for medium to large hands it is amazing. I think I prefer my Manix over my pm2...

Between the two I would get a ZDP-189 Delica 4.

That's a hard one. Both are great knives. I would probably choose the delica because the manix is going to take up a good deal of pocket space. Both are very light weight. But you mentioned that you don't have any folders made in then USA, so maybe go with the manix.

It really just comes down to pocket space. The manix is very wide in pocket. Not sure if you tried it out in your pocket when you handled it or not. Manix does have a little more blade. Delica is going to disappear in your pocket. You will forget you are carrying it until you need it. Delica will also be a little less expensive if you stick with vg10. I have both blades and really like both a lot. Manix 2 lightweight is only slightly heavier. It really just depends on pocket real estate. The manix is wide. That's the only drawback. If you really plan to get both I would go for the delica first and then the manix but honestly its pretty much a toss up . Both are great knives. If you want the usa made then go for the manix.
The PM2 should be considered when thinking of the Manix 2. The Native 5 lw should be considered when thinking of the Delica. Some think those are better knives than the ones you mentioned. Food for thought.
I occastionally carry a Manix2 lw. Ocassionaly an Endura. Never a Delica. Sometimes having a bigger blade is useful.

the frn native is also a really great knife, i like mine all black frn native a little more than my all black delica. the delica is actually a little longer in length but the native feels like a bigger knife than it is due to its handle shape.

Haha. It's crazy but she offered to get me the PM2. I can't let her pay that much though. I held one of those too while I was a SMKW and liked it a lot. Only thing I don't get is the lock. I'm sure you get used to it but it seemed weird.
