Manix 2 or Manix 2?

Sorry for this, but I might need some help. I recently purchased M2 G10 s30v at a local shop. Solid etc. Now my eye has drifted over to the M2 LW s110v. Before you say both, my struggle is having two of anything, yes (arms, legs etc. being the exceptions) So...

1) G10 - heavier, s30v, can be taken apart.
2) LW - lighter, s110v, cannot be taken apart.

1 or 2?

Well, since you already have the one, save up and get the other, then compare, and sell off the one you prefer less

I tried a lightweight version in bd1 but I didn't keep it. I am now considering getting another one. The reason it didn't stay was because the handle just felt too light for me. I like the handle to have a little heft and the manix 2 LW has almost none. It feels cheap although I know it can stand up to a lot

Not sure if my G10 is old or new. The liners are not milled out. They are solid. Also the finish is a stone wash/acid wash finish. I quite like it actually. Never seen this finish before.

Had both. Even though I'm a casual user, the 110 LW was MUCH too light, IMO. I sold it quickly.

I considered the 110v lw...until I handled one. Some people love the lightweights; I wasn't one of them. I've got a Manix2 in M4 - so I don't really feel that I'm missing out

I have a light one. Too light for me. I like feeling like I´m gripping something solid.

Does the G10 Manix 2 have a typical weight to it, or does it feel particularly light or heavy for the size?

I sense a Franken manix in the works. Save for the lw and toss the frn handles and add the s110 to the g10.

The Manix2 with G10 weighs 5.2 oz, and does not feel particularly heavy for its size (IMO)
The LW versions are about 3 oz, I believe.

The Lightweight FRN is awesome in my opinion.
I have plenty of knives with steel liners and/or G10 scales, but not very many knives with the superior edge retention of S110V and weighing in at under 3oz...
If you hike or backpack, or just want an ultra lightweight folder you can EDC in basketball shorts and not even notice, consider the Manix 2 LW

This sounds like the route I may take. Can anyone provide information on the M2 G10 blade finish? It's quite nice IMO.

i just want to jump in mention that i see alot of folks either by mistake or out of ignorance state the Manix lightweight knife handles are made from FRN.

the manix lightweight handles are made from a new material called FRCP, not FRN.

they are quite different in weight and feel imho.

I really live my manix2 lw. it fills an very specific role for me. i just love to have a blade of that strength and size yet is incredibly light.

id say pick up that knife in question in g10 if you want a solid all around blade.

Just watching a YouTube video on the LW. Finger on trigger. Ready. Aim. I will follow-up with a recap when it arrives.

Sound advice. Either way, you can't go wrong it's a terrific platform.

I found the LW to be too light for myself, although I know it's very capable.
Considered the Manix 2 XL? Same weight as standard Manix 2. It's my favourite of the Manix series.

I prefer the LW in S110V. In general, I prefer lightweights, and don't care to EDC something over 4oz, definitely not 5oz.

I'm contemplating swapping the S90V blade of the Forum 2015 Native LW with the S35V blade of a G10 Native 5. The resulting S90V G10 FrankenNative 5 should come in just under 4oz.

Not a huge fan of LW models.. but I am wanting to try s110v. I would get both and then sell the one you like less
