Manix II CF

Hey, Josh. Can you PM me where you ordered one? I can't find them after having made up my mind. I tried "the guy" but haven't gotten a reply yet.

Email is harkamus at mindspring dot com if for some reason PMs don't get through.

as an aside, anyone know what rc spyderco is running the s90v? i can't find it mentioned anywhere

I received my M2 today. The lock is a bit stiff. It's going to need some breaking in. My first spydie with the peel ply cf which I find very nice. Ergos are great, and I kinda like the louder click when it locks compared to the axis.

Here are a couple of pics and more at the photobucket link below.

It looks like I was a day or two late. Does anyone still have these in stock? I'm not having any luck.

Got mine yesterday! It's a fantastic knife overall. Mine weighs in at 4 oz on the kitchen scale so it's pretty light for it's size. The ergos of the grip are some of the best of any knife I have. You can use the forward position for better control or the deep choil in the rear position for more power. I like the heavy jimping on the top and bottom as well. The lock on mine is VERY stiff - it's difficult to open and you can feel the abrasion in your finger tips when pulling back on the lock. The plastic buttons are also beveled (narrower at the front - thicker at the back) and hard to grab on to. I would have actually preferred them if they were installed backwards - I think it would have been easier to catch the forward edge and pull. The plastic is definitely out of place - it's probably perfectly functional but just doesn't look quite right on a knife like this where everything else is very top of the line (CF + S90V is my personal favorite combo). I may try to remove them and make some new buttons out of CF myself...

Overall it's an absolutely fantastic knife.

Mine showed up today. Definitely lighter than the CF version, on my scale the CF version comes in at 4.125 vs 5.250 for the G-10. The lock on mine is fine, both are good and solid but not difficult to pull back. The CF texture is different than on the other CF's I have (Stretch II, Sage, Caly 3, Native), feels very secure. This is definitely one I'll pick up a second of if I have a chance.

The weight loss might be due to the skeletonized liners, I'm not sure.

Probably the same peel-ply CF used on the Military. Speaking of the Military, since the G-10 and CF versions of it weigh within a couple grams of each other, I'm inclined to agree with Josh than most of the weight difference between the G-10 and CF Manix 2 can be attributed to the skeletonized liners. The grind and CF combined account for the rest.

It took quite a bit to get my Stretch II out of my pocket........
This may have done it!
