Does anyone watch that show ?

Two people take off into the bush with a map, a compass and a head start. The tracker is on horseback, armed with a local guide and an arsenal of forensic skills. The prey have 36 hours to reach a finish line some 40 kilometers away without getting caught. How they escape is up to them.

This season covers terrain from the Maritimes to the prairie Badlands to the Coast Mountains of Northern BC and Mantracker is counting on his sidekicks to guide him through it. The prey may know each other going into the chase, but will the pressure of being hunted cement their bonds or destroy their relationships?

The prey are looking for glory. Mantracker is looking for them.

Some peeps on here use very basic compasses to military type, Awesome & addictive show.... :D

Good stuff it is fun to watch:thumbup: I saw a couple of SWAT guys beat him, it was best episode yet.

Haven't seen it. When I saw the subject line I thought it was about the annual LE event held in Georgia.

Seen it a couple of times now and probably won't watch it again. The prey was abysmally stupid.

Obviously there are rules in place because the easiest way to not be tracked by guys on horseback is to move at night and/or across terrain the horses cannot follow. The map is a lot bigger for guys on foot than it is for men on horseback, yet no prey I have seen takes advantage of this.

But all of the action takes place in daylight. The one time I saw two idjits from Toronto climb a ridge and instead of cresting it to traverse on the backside, they stayed in full view of the pursuit, thus burning energy needlessly while allowing the trackers to guess where they had to come down. Had they crossed the ridgeline, if they had wished, they could have sat there and rested and let the trackers panic about getting around the steep foothills their horses couldn't climb.

Mantracker is way more checkers than chess.

Having never seen it, nor knowing what it's about, I take it those with competent E&E skills would shine in this game? (just don't carry an 11mm button compass because those things will get you killed!)

…. A pair of people with there backpack & gear get a head start and one person has a compass the other has the map…. And mantracker hunts for them,25 miles to the finish line… one show is a compilation of two nights. The show is very addictive franki & I love it…. Last night’s was a repeat but man tracker was chasing two black guys thru the wilderness, it was funny…. Look it up on youtube…. awe damn bro there is the old white dude on the horse…and they bolted like the po-po was after’em…. I laughed so hard… they are wandering around in the woods sing slave songs & that song about moses ,Let me people free…. Mantracker is like do they think I am deaf ,rides up on ‘em howdy boys need a ride …and they scream Awe F*ck ,he be here …and off and running again…that white dude is messing w/ my mind yo !!

Let's put it this way, one other team of prey I saw, one dude had the compass and the other had the map, and then they split up during one of the pursuit scenes, and the guy with the map got caught. Geniuses.

I started watching episodes on YouTube last year after someone mentioned it to me.

It's on the Science Channel now and I record it every week.

My favorite episodes are those where the prey decide to screw with Mantracker either through deception (the girls who recorded chit-chat and then left the recorder playing as they ran the other direction) or the ones who try to injure/kill Mantracker and/or his horse (the Aussie and his cousin who used bear spray directly in the face of Mantracker--OUCH!) I guess sometimes the prey forget that they're on a television program...

There was a pair of ex-military guys from two different armies (British and Russian maybe?) that schooled Mantracker.

:D

Very cool show. Man that guy is GOOD!

He was following an Aussie guy once. He said "Im a little worried about the guy. Hes an Aussie... that means hes 3/4 crazy and the other 1/4 is tough" lol.

Very cool show.

And I agree the one with the swat guys was really cool.

I have not seen all the episodes but that will change ,I ordered the DVD of season 1 & 2 LOL ,and have the DVR set to record every Wednesday on the Science channel(dish network 193)

I would think the tracker would just follow the rather large tracks the camera crew is making as they film the men trying to ellude the man tracker.

Ofcourse I never saw the show, just a couple of promos for it...

I think I'm going to go set my DVR tonight. Sounds like it could be a fun show. It's hard to find a show worth watching. (My wife thinks that the Bachelor/Bachelorette is the best thing ever!:barf::grumpy::thumbdn:

I haven't seen it, but do any of the people being tracked "set up" false clues as to their direction? I would give that a try myself, might buy you a few minutes or a few hours.

they try ,it is funny everything from notes to moving rocks, tree limbs,to walking backwards..... or that guy that taped carpet to his feet to softnen the footprint ?

HERE is a YouTube channel with lots and lots of Mantracker videos if you're looking for a taste of what the show's about.

Walking backwards will not throw a good tracker off at all. Putting carpet on their feet helps somewhat. The illegals do it coming across the border. In fact, border stores on the Mexican side sell these booties.

Here's a photo I shot on the border and you will see these booties. Every border newspaper and web site has run this photo at some time. They got back over the fence and started hurling large rocks at me ;)
