I bought a Marble NIB at a gunshow and got a good fairly good deal on it 'cause it had some slight scuffing on the leather handle (I saved about $10). I emailed Marble to see if they would repair it (the dealer I bought it from insisted they would) and they replied that they would. I sent it to them and when it came back, it showed no sign of repair and there was no note.

I emailed them again and they apologized and asked me to send the knife back again.

Below is the last email I received from them:

Dear Terry,

I will be making you a new Sport 99 today. It shall be in the mail (or UPS)
tomorrow. Thanks.

I got the knife back today. It's a beauty and Jason did a great job. I was really surprised that he made a new knife because the scuffing on the handle was not all that bad and I thought a little sealant or something would fix it. But what do I know about leather handles? Not much, I'm afraid.

Anyway, I got a new knife and Marble is a stand up outfit and I'm looking forward to adding more to my collection, which seems small at only 5 right now.

BTW, the Sport 99 is wonderful. I now have at least 1 Sport 99, Woodcraft, and Fieldcraft, and can't for the life of me decide which I prefer best. They all just have a great look and feel.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. Jason threw in a brand new sheath with the knife. Unbelievable.

Way Cool - glad to hear Marble's made it right.

Marble's makes a great little knife for pretty reasonable $ IMHO. You have a few already. I like the leather handled the best as well.

Have you handled the Plainsman yet? It is a great utility knife. How about the Trailmaker 10"- the big one?

MD,
Yes, I have handled a plainsman and yes, I want one. And a traimaker and a couple more sport99s and another woodcraft and...sheesh...it's going to take me awhile. Hope Marble keeps cranking out the good stuff. There is a way-cool pic of a Marble-Loveless design in the March Blade issue on p. 50. Nice blend of leather and stag. The photo doesn't really do the knife justice.

I love Marbles! For "traditional" styles in a production knife, they just can't be beat.

Maddog was kind enough to trade me back my #20 of 100 Limited Edition Drop Point Hunters. Now I have #19 & #20 ... I guess that means I own 2% of these models!
