Marble's Camp Cleaver?

If that's carbon knife, then that looks totally worth it. orange and wood handle looks great too, like the grind too.

Marbles sources all of their knives from overseas companies nowadays. No reason not to expect their machete-products are by Imacasa. Certainly wouldn't be worthwhile for Marbles to buy their own factory.

I like the look of that big belly machete/knife. Looks very useful as a camp knife/big game skinner.

Cool. Strip off that ugly (IMO) paint job (I usually like orange, but that is an ugly color) and put a forced patina on it. Could be a winner winner chicken dinner.

Edge,

I agree with you about the look, but you could argue that this knife was made with WS&S in mind... the orange blade(high visibility in the woods), sheath w/pocket, carbon steel, Mora-type price. I'm looking forward to handling it...

I just ordered one, I have the Condor Aztec cleaver, now I can compare the two and their steels.

I don't know how I missed this. I don't know why they have this out but not the carbon machete. It is by Condor (ie, IMACASA). I haven't seen these in person but I can tell from the pics the handles will probably need some grinding to go straight to the tang of the blades.

i agree with this...just that color of orange...almost like a sick sick type green..just rubs me wrong...

But i agree, I am sure they did it for high visibility. But i am a ninja...stealth is my modus operandi :D

It looks like 2 pouches, 1 for the stone, 1 for whatever. The stone pouch looks like the size of an altoids tin.....

get rid of the paint, sand and linseed oil the handle, replace the sharpening stone with an altoid tin PSK, use the other pouch for a small FAK.....

this could easily become the mod project of choice here on WSS, kind of like the CS trailhawks that they mod on the ax sub-forum and the crosman 1377s that get mod'ed on the airgun sites.

I am anxiously awaiting the test results and initial reviews. Should we try a pass-around?

Fairly new to W&SS here. Anyone else notice the bottom of the page for this monster nessie? I love that they think "If you like this, you might also like this pink bag of coffee!"

Anyway, I think I will also be getting one of these, and I like the idea of replacing the stone with a PSK tin.

One question: I hear alot about oiling handles with linseed oil. Is there an advantage to this over, say, mineral oil?

Nuthin' goes better with a monster Nessie than one a them pink bags of coffee! I'm in!
