Is this guy or company the same thing as Microtech?

I bought one of these last night and am awaiting it. I was wondering if Marifone was as reliable and up to speed as microtech was...

The knife is made by Microtech, although I can't find it on their website, or the Marfione Custom Knives website.

It looks to be a well made credit card knife, but one thing it isn't is a custom knife.

Hi Recon,

If you do a little internet research you will find out you are best served by never sending him a MO or Check for payment. Always use a credit card. Why, so yu can file a dispute when you don't get whatever you ordered.

fellas, i buy my knives from NGK, only. this is the company that i trust totally. i have bought tons of blades off of them and they are so good with giving me great blades and getting them to me in no time. The MT Assailant CC knife is available from NGK.

www.newgraham.com

I have bought 3 of them. One of the models I bought is out of stock b/c i bought the last one!!! :) here tomorrow, look for a picture of all the MT's i have bought. Actually, one of them wont be here till next week, on monday because i chose standard shipping and not the UPS overnight like i always have them send me my blades

You can't lose buying from New Graham.

I wonder why the Assailant isn't listed anywhere on the Microtech site? It isn't a really new product.

That is what I was wondering too... I love this knife and cant find any information about it... I havent even heard anything back from owners, and i KNOW I am not the only one out there!!! ;) I wish it was on the Microtech website!! I will have one of the 3 I ordered tomorrow morning!!! Along with the MT Currahee!!! Cant wait to get my new blades. Stay tuned for pictures!!!!

It's not Marifone, and it's not Mafione, it's Marfione.

I have photographed a BUNCH of his signed work, and I will say they are some of the tightests and cleanest 'customs' I have ever handled.

Thanks guys. Sorry eric for having this in the wrong place... It said custom on the knife so I thought it went here... MY bad man.

Go ask on microholics what they think of Marfione

Can you be a bit more specific about what they're problem is. The only thing I could find was slow delivery times and the quality isnt what it used to be. Any microtech I buy would be off a dealer anyway who already had it in stock. Reminds me a bit of ATC. The only ATC tommie I would buy would be direct from a dealer who had it in stock. I got the new Currahee in yesterday and it is a wicked little blade. I got the urban camo.

Which one did you get? If I keep mine I will be sanding the micarta handles cause they covered it with the urban camo paint. It would look awesome after I have sanded it. Wicked blade on them knives that's for sure.

THE SHORT ANSWER IS THAT MARFIONE, TONY MARFIONE, IS THE OWNER AND DESIGNER FOR ALL MICROTECH PRODUCTS, THE COMPANY, ETC.

BY DEFINITION, HE USES THE MARFIONE NAME TO DISTINGUISH HIS "CUSTOM" PRODUCTS FROM THE CORPORATE LINE.

This is a very thin line, but in many cases, Tony makes some knives pretty much by himself and sells them within the Marfione brand for fiscal reasons.

I think the advice about using only Credit Cards is sound as there have been many instances of slow, delayed and even never deliveries of both Marfione and MT products.

All work now is done in the Bradford, PA plant, as the Vero Beach, FL factory closed some time ago. (Typically, Vero produced knives carry a higher value than the newer, Bradford- produced stuff. )

Promises are often made that cannot or are not kept, so protect yourself.

The credit card tool thing is still, no matter how you look at it, pretty much a gimmick and you could make one for about 2 bucks with a grinder and some, any, metal. Sage advice is not to carry one of these through TSA security though as they look at it as a "weapon."
