Marine Logo?

nothing like some pictures to change the subject!

how do you cut the fullers in the blade anyway?

nice knives by the way

blood grooves ?fullers i mill in with my mini mill i forget the size end mill i used on the first 2 (canted so it would cut round ish ends) i made but the 3rd one was a ball endmill (1.25" i think ) on a cant and it worked out great as per pictuers
that big old ball mill works the mini mill hard but light passes and takign time makes things look nice and keeps the tols from blowing

thats a nice damascus kabar btw im planning a pair of damasteel ones at some poionnt jsut not sure when also a purple heart one somethignin me just tells me to make Kabars when i get spare time (not sure what it might be :) )

PI, are you serious! With all that fresh air in your lungs you had it easy. Now MCRD San Diego, jet fumes filling your lungs as you run, got to be tough to get past that! :)

Besides, all those sand fleas nibbling your ears at night, just like Suzie back home!

Sorry, forgot, isn't PI the training center for WM's
(put on flack jacket and get under the table)

You know how many hours I spend on my knucles on the parade deck for someone in the platoon missing a parade comand when a jet was taking off. Being in the middle of hell and being able to see real life on the otherside of the wire. Then there are those wonderful desert "hills" like Mount MFer to climb carrying a mortor base plate once you made it to ITR. Oh for the pleasant breezes of an east coast Paridise Island. LMAO Honor Platoon 3152 1969 "Old Corps". LOL Semper Fi

Btw I used a ball mill to do my groves too.

All fantastic work. It's great to see such support, but I expect nothing less from this community.

My brother in law is graduating from school (Army) in May and you all have given me a great idea for a graduation present.

Thank you all for your service.

Paris Island. That's where he's at. I sent his Dad this link and he really got a kick out of it. He wanted to say thank to you guys too. Those are beautiful knives guys! I'll put mine on here when I get it done, but I can't take the credit for the blades like you all can. Not yet anyway! I think I'm going to make him a commemrative knife for grad. and when he gets back, I think I want to get his input on what style of carry knife he'd like. To me that's something I'd want to put my own two cents worth in, if it was mine.
Anyone know where you can buy a good tactical blade? I'm thinking around 5 to 6 inches of blade. Seems like that is what alot of them are anyway.
Anyway, myself and Recruit Brumbaugh's PROUD father are enjoying your little battle between PI and SD.

I feel that pain! lol Mount MFer, Old Smokey, Recon Ridge, The Microwave....I think they use stair climbers at PI to get the same effect! ;) Don't want to make you feel old, but Platoon 3107 1991. Hell, I just did the math...now I feel old! lol

1991, Isn't that after they put recruits in air conditioned luxury rooms instead of metal quansets? No hitting, cursing, adams apple grabbing and no derogitory remarks about your mothers. I heard they started reading recruits bedtime stories and delievering orange juice to your rooms with the morning wake up calls at 7 am. LOL Semper Fi

PS Microwave? which hot bare dirt knob was that. No such thing as a microwave in 69. It was hot everywhere in the day time and the tents were cold at night.

I was in SD in '87, hell that was 20yrs ago!

Don't remind me of being on you're knuckles while island hopping! Jeeze, and think of spending new years in boot camp while all those civilians are firing off fireworks over the bay. Ah, real life just out of reach!

HA! No they must have started with the luxury suites long after I got out! I'm sure I had it better than you did, but I did live in a quonset hut during Marine Combat Training. I'd prefer the ground on most occasions!

The Microwave was a hill that was named after the tower that sat on it.Not sure what kind of tower, but it was to the left of the shelf below recon ridge a piece if I recall correctly. I just remember thinking that the hill was never going to stop going UP! -Matt-
