Geez am I the only custom collector here.
I am taking the 5th on this one too.
 
Gus I am new to the board but I don't want the wife to find out how much I have in knives. But she collects Boyd's bears. I don't ask about them either.
 
About $50, all facory made knives so far. I expect this to go up steadily as I learn more and refine my tastes. (This might suggest several possible refinements of your question.)
 
my average was $79.28. pretty low, i think.

i'm definitely a knife "user", so most of mine are factory production knives with only a few customs to raise my average.

It wasn't until I figured it out that I realized I had spent so much on knives. It adds up fast!

About $60 when I buy new.

About 95 cents when I buy used.
(Kitchen knives worth about $40 each
I've gotten a Randall mod. 10 at this price)

About $25 when I buy semi-antiques.
(current values around $100)

I teach how to cheap.
