Marksman 830

Thanks Chris. I looked at the buck website and thought I went back over this thread pretty well but couldn't seem to find it.

The only place I saw the width was the pdf catalog.....
and then I had to measure the blade width of my alpha folder, which was convieniently on my belt ;)

I can't wait!
I see the 830 as being the same size as my beloved Alpha Folders, but with a ball bearing pivot, and coming in at half the weight!

It's up for pre-order at Knife Center now.
This is one of the ones I'm looking forward to this year so I went ahead and just ordered it. Can't wait!

I emailed Larry about a different knife a couple days ago, and also asked if he had heard anything about when the 830 might be released.
He hadn't heard anything yet.
So I am waiting patiently ;)

I am going to take a page from Oregon's playbook ;)

For your amusement, and entertainment, while we wait.....
Here are some of the Blue Angels. They spent hours practicing for this weekend's air show.
Flying over our house over and over and over :)

I figure they are each a "Marksman" of the sky ;)

Fat Albert, their support aircraft, even passed overhead very low :)

This is the first new Buck to catch my eye since the Vantage. Can't wait to see one in person.

Of course we know they aren't available yet but was just checking the Buck Pro site to see what an 830 would cost me with my discount and WOW! We're talking on heck of a deal! Already have one on order with Larry but if it ends up being as nice as I'm hoping it is I can see picking up two more at the discount price.

Well, it shouldn't be too much longer until they are available.

They have been featured quite a bit in various knife magazines recently.

First page hits on google using key words "Buck Marksman 830" show a vendor with expected in stock day of 3-25-2014 = next week. Take the date with a grain of salt. We shall see them when we actually see them. Does our good friend, Jacob, in Post Falls have them yet?

I'm hoping, fingers crossed, to see one (even if I can't purchase it) in Harrisonburg at the Knife Show.

Well, I put in a preorder with KnifeCenter, hoping I'm not to late to the game to get a first round

I figured it out.....

The reason the 830 is not released unto us yet is.....

Each blade is handforged deep in the heart of Mordor, using a minimum of 12 orcs and a cave troll which are then sacrificed during each blade's heat treating process.
This unique process takes much time, and results in a blade imbued with magical and mystical powers ;)

I figured that was his secret heat treating process ;)

Hahaha, you might be right
But the joke was great :)

Perhaps they know that the longer we wait, the happier we will be when we get them in our hands ;)
Yep, I like that theory almost as much as the other one I presented :D
