Mason Knives says Hello!!

Beautiful work, thanks for coming aboard!

I love the fully sunken joint and ivory micarta on the trapper.

The comment above by justsomedude reminds me of a newbie question I've been meaning to ask.

I have seen many references to "sunken joints" and have never been sure what it meant. However, now that I've been referred back to an image (the lovely trapper shown above), what I infer is that by "sunken joint," we're saying that when the knife is closed, there's none of the blade tang sticking out over the top of the handle. Is this essentially what "sunken joint" means?

Thank you to every one who has taken the time to comment, i really do appreciate it!!
The Westinghouse micarta looks much better in the flesh, i was really lucky to find it.
Getting some more will be a big problem, its as rare as hens teeth!

All the best

Paul

Had a break from slip joints and made this little hunter, to try out some new jigged bone i had laying around.
O1 tool steel blade
Stainless bolster
Tapered tang
Amber dyed jigged bone scales
3 1/4" blade

Cheers

Paul

I am all about the folders, but this fixy has me mesmorised!! Wow! Such fantastic work sir...

Thanks Bobbybirds! Here is a couple more pictures.
I only made it for fun. A friend of mine up in Scotland is going to do some extensive testing out in the field with it, to see how it gets on.
If it works, i will make some RWL-34 models with Loveless bolts and a thong tube.

Cheers

Paul

I look forward to seeing more of this beauty and its evolution in the future, Paul!! Just gorgeous!!!!

I would buy that... I might be in England next summer. :D Dumb question, but what are regulations for shipping knives to Canada? I know I can bring them back in my luggage. I bring knives home from France every summer...

Shouldn't be a problem, I both send and receive knives from Canada all the time ;)

Bump!! Post some more examples sir... I need MOAR! Haha!

For reals though... Put me on a list for one of those incredible fixed blades should you put them into production!

Sway Back Jacks
RWL-34 blades and springs
Stabilised malle burl scales
Amber jigged bone scales

Thanks for looking

Paul

Absolutely stunning Paul. Another member here (Mr. Bob BigBiscuit) pointed me in your direction. I don't know if it's appropriate or not to ask about the price. But I am curious about the Sway Back Jacks
RWL-34 blade with some type of micarta. Thanks

All knives displayed in the various discussion forums by makers are already spoken for. That is a requirement of being shown by the maker outside the "for sale by maker" forum.

In like manner, asking about price for a maker to make knife needs to be done outside the discussion forums. You can click on the maker's or his avatar and you can go to his profile. There you will find contact information. Most makers also allow you to leave a visitor message on their profile page so that you can ask a question. Additionally, those with paid memberships can ask their questions via PM.

That amber jigged bone is beautiful!! Well, the entire knife is amazing but that colour is a fantastic choice!
