What’s wrong with that sheath? Maybe I am biased because I had something similar done for a knife of mine. That's a great knife, but an awful sheath. A decent sheath will bring your knife alive.

You're looking at my replacement sheath. Look at the post I replied to to see the original Spyderco sheath, which is awful. What’s wrong with that sheath? Maybe I am biased because I had something similar done for a knife of mine.
Take a look at the 1796 from Windlass. 16mm (5/8”) at the hilt! Would certainly make for a nice display piece.
Got it!! Love your sheathYou're looking at my replacement sheath. Look at the post I replied to to see the original Spyderco sheath, which is awful.
Ah, thanks! I double checked & It seems you're right. I'm probably gonna get that one myself, seems like a no-brainer at that price point.I saw that number on MRL and Atlanta Cutlery's sites. It's a misprint in the marketing. I watched Schola Gladiatoria's (Matt Easton) preview video and he measured the blade at around 8.5mm at the guard, or just a hair over 5/16", which would be more in line with historical numbers. They also list the thickness as 1/64" near the tip, though Matt measured it at around 1.8mm, or a hair over 1/16". A saber 5/8" thick at the guard would indeed be a sight to behold though.![]()
Is it the Chop? I want one but have not pulled the trigger yet.I picked up a large DPX Gear fixed blade a while back, it's excellent.
