Hi Rob,

Actually, these knives caught my attention so there is love for the Wharnies! They look smart. :)

What is the grind on these? Convex perhaps?

Hi Rob,

Oh...alrighty then. Uncle. I give. :)

I'll take the #3 Wharncliffe 5/32" 1095 fatboy knife (bottom knife in left column). This way you can ship the #2 Creekster and Wharncliffe together!

Thank you kindly.

Mark

Mark,
When I first started to grind these profiles I only had an intentional grind on one and that was the FFG on top left, all the others were suppose to be a full convex saber grind, but I found (after heat treat) that I was unable to achieve this with a wharnie style and started to get a little recurve in the grind... killing the wharnies flat edge.. so I modified them to a flat saber with a full convex finish... so the grinds to be honest are hard to explain... I'm sure other makers have achieved this on a wharnie but what I considered to be pretty straight forward turned out to be near impossible (for me... )

now I have to set out and conquer the true full convex wharnie grind!!. :D

thanks bro I really appreciate it and I think you may be surprised with the wharnie...

take care,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thank you for taking the time to give a thorough explanation. It appears to me that you are a very talented knife maker so worries my friend. :) I am looking forward to receiving both knives.

Take care.
