Matthew Gregory- A green demon unleashed!

Matt, those two you have for sale are underpriced. Fyi :)

The irony!

Your's is the HEAVY one, at 7 ounces or so. HA!!! In some respects, that's got to be a lot like calling my 170 pounds frame 'fat', no? :D

Joey, do me a fav if it's not too much trouble... Weigh both of those knives from RJ and Phill. LOVE to know how much they tip the scales at... If it's a pain, skip it. Just curious!

In Pittsbugh at a wedding

Wearing the RJ :)

When I get home I'll weigh them both my friend

These are 1/4 inch stockers

I have some 1/8 inch Kwaikens from Phill that I can weigh also

We will definitely plan out something special for a Kwaiken

Call me this coming week buddy

Made a quick video, mainly for my buddy Mecha, cuz he loves my videos so much...

This is a 7" I just finished up and sharpened today, to be sent to it's owner tomorrow. Enjoy! ESPECIALLY you, my brother Mecha!:D

I approve!
Back in the day, I had a 7" blade ordered from Phill Hartsfield but the well went dry.
A very nice knife there, MG.

Doug

your contribution is welcome, my friend!

Awesome!

Epoxy gel works better for sealing the handle material if you would like something more comfy against the body. My design is called the Concealed Samuri, compliments of Shiva. I also put "armor piercing" tips on them. One blade geometry is shorter and wider with more rocker for skinning and the other is as yours are, for making bad guy sandwiches. lol 3/16 stock with distal and taper tang

Love the lil' wasabi... Interesting that the smaller blade weighs 33% more than mine. Tapering fore and aft removes a LOT of mass. His tip will fare better against a car door, perhaps, but I'm not expecting mine to be used that way.:D

RJ's kangaroo hide covered sheaths kick ass, too.

Jeff, mine are impregnated with an industrial epoxy, but I intentionally wipe some of it off to make it cleaner looking, less 'goopy'. I used to do it that way, as I was trying to replicate RJ's work methods, but found that the grippier texture was more appealing to me, and in carry I rarely noticed it.

I hear that, I wouldn't find it an issue either, just wanted to respond to Loriens remark regarding that. I saw your design, really liked it, a couple weeks later Shiva gave me a piece of damascus so I made my first inspired after yours. Only have 5 under my belt. The other 4 were made of L6, forge finished, and edge quenched. Like your style so much, I've developed 2 designs that incorporate the mix of east and west. Thinking about a name change though. Street Tanto sounds better than Concealed Samuri to me ;-) and If you got a Street Tanto then you also need a Samurai Skinner. Because so Samurai should be left unskinned after dispatch

Called out in an M. Gregory youtube video! I feel like I'm on the Jumbotron at the the sportsball championship! :D

These ^ are really nice.

Thank you! They are still changing and becoming more refined, I've only made 3 of the skinners/hunters and 5 of the little tantos. By the end of the month I'll post pics of the latest Samurai Skinner. It grew a little, has better flowing lines and slight handle profile change with purple haze Kirinite scales and carbon fiber pins so it doesn't have the eastern look at all.

hey Cajun, I don't mind seeing posts of RJ Martin's work in this thread, since he was such a huge inspiration for Matthew, however, this is a thread about Matt's work.
Perhaps you could start your own thread regarding your own admirable work?
