So I initially got a MavKnives paring knife in April. During the build he was communicative and surprisingly quick at completing that build. It took a couple of weeks from commission to doorstep. I paid $705 to him on April 9, 2019 (yes I know my fuck up) for two more knives. Then I sent $460 on April 19th for a magnetic knife block to match the knives. Upon starting the knives he was having trouble matching the original knifes resin pour. So I sent my original knife in to be rehandled along with a $20 tip for the trouble. I've since dug his post history and it seems to me (not confirmed) that the original handle material was purchased and not poured by him...as he claimed. I sent another $50 on May 3rd because I still felt bad for the issues. A few months of dwindling communication and many "wrapping it up soon" comments later...I gave up for months. I blew up on November 10th with "Just in case you've forgotten. These builds were agreed upon and paid for in APRIL. Before your now THIRD flipper was even an idea...let alone in the customers hands. Before a lot of things that I've had the patience to just congratulate you on making." He was apologetic. But here I still am with my dick in my hands. Screenshots, full conversations, whatever...all available to those who are curious.

He goes by MavKnives on Instagram and marshn07 on Reddit. I'm sure he's here as well but I haven't looked.

Just an update because I don't want to mislead...I misremembered. He DID tell me he purchased the original handle. So ignore my "he said he made it" comment. I COMPLETELY misremembered this conversation.

As you can see, even at the time I was confused. I must've been distracted.

Much like "never a borrower nor a lender be,"

never pay up front
never pay up front
never pay up front

very sorry to hear that your trust ad goodwill has been taken advantage of!!!

Im not active on here, but have gotten the notification. I have already responded in multiple ways to OP on the reasoning of this post. OP is claiming i stole, blocked on IG and whatever else from him. None of that is the case. There was never anything stolen what-so-ever. He ordered CUSTOM knives, custom isn't make over night, custom isn't bought from China and delivered in a week. Yes, my custom order from him is closing in on a year from order placement to now and I understand that. I openly told him i was putting them to the side as I wasn't doing anything but messing kitchen knives up. Did I put them to the side longer than I should have? Absolutely. Have I ignored him or blocked him or flat out stolen anything? No, not even remotely close. Stealing would be okay to blame me for If I were to not respond at all, blocked on all social medias, blocking his phone number, and completely ignoring all and any of these posts accusing me of this stuff.

The order is being completed and will be shipped to him as ordered. I will GLADLY provide shipping proof to anyone that is going to want it. It will be shipped with signature confirmation, and Ill even film the entire packaging and driving to the post office so I can't be accused of anything else that I didnt do.

I
Better response than we’ve seen from a lot of makers.
was never out to steal anything and I didn’t steal anything. The order just took far longer than I originally stated hence these acquisitions.
They will be completed in the next couple days and I’ll update this post confirming exactly that

When you have a customer's money and a customer's knife they tend to get anxious. If your communications also dwindles they tend to get extremely anxious.

A few suggestions.

1) corollary to "never pay full price up front." = "never ask for full payment up front."
2) Be proactive. If you run into difficulty tell the customer before they ask.
3) always respond to a customer within 48 hours. It's part of the job. If this feels like to much of a hassle perhaps a rethinking of the business model is in order.

Looks like this is heading towards a positive conclusion. I hope OP changes the title from 'Bad' when he receives the product and if he's happy with the quality.
