That is the finest looking damascus I've ever seen Bruce, amazing pattern!!!!!!
Every minute aspect of the knife is perfect!
You are a rare breed my friend!!!

man-oh-man-oh-man is that ever beautiful Bruce !!

Elephant Ivory Scales ? Curious as to the other materials used in the build too. Do you call that a feather pattern damascus Bruce ? Its beautiful !!

Yep, pre-ban elephant ivory. The main frame is 1018, bronze seat for the blade and 1084/15n20 feather damascus. The bolsters are 1084.

Ho Hum... not another Bruce Bump fantastic knife????:)

Bruce I'll never get tired of studying your workmanship. It makes me eager for building my big shop when we retire in not too many years and getting a nice mill. Keep them coming.

I looked at that blade pattern and assume you did a side cut "W" ( or stacked them), squared the billet, and did a hot cut about 75% down the center, then re-welded the billet. Is that about right.
Did you slice bars from the final billet or draw it out?

Your work is unmatched. The owners must pay a pretty price for a piece like that. If you don't mind saying in public (or send me a PM), what does a piece like that fetch?

You are close on the steel procedure, W pattern, cut into squares and stacked so the end view is on the side and sliced down the middle from end to end into two pieces and welded those back together. Sliced like bread and stock removal from there

I got my asking price at the Reno Show but maybe he doesnt want to let that out here. I have no clue how much he spent on the engraving later.
