Maximum Minimalism.

This thread needs a bump. Less is more.

Outstanding example of the Cult Of Maximum minimalism.

I've been trying it for the past weekend, and I forgot the Photon has the variable brightness. I've been using the old Fenix E01 for over ten years, and the added features of the Freedom in a smaller package is nice.

What is the tiny fixed blade? I love it!

I've been meaning to go back to the unfolding pocket knife now that I'm in the free state of Texas. The People's Republik Of Marylandistan bans the concealed carry of ANY fixed blade at all. I got hassled by a police officer over a Buck Hartsook back in Maryland, so I gave up the idea of the unfolding pocket knife. I love the idea of a small sheep foot fixed blade.

I'm in love with it. It's an Esee Gibson Pinch. Can't believe there's no talk of it on Bladeforums. I've tried other small fixed blades in the past including the Candiru, Minimalist, etc, but they weren't small enough for me. This thing is. Already introduced it to the Dremel and smoothed off the edges. The Pico Widgy bar earned it's keep this weekend opening paint cans and unscrewing wall socket covers while painting the kids rooms, and today it pulled staples at work like a champ. Photon Freedom is awesome for creeping around the house at night or using on the bedside table at a really low output. Small But Mighty!!

I appreciate the story being brought back from the archives. I remember Mr Van from the 22 woodsman story and I’d like to read more of these adventures.

4 month bump hehe
Mostly cause I wanna ask J jackknife if he still feels the same about Saks as he did 10 years ago ;)

If anything my feelings about SAK's have increased in appreciation. In recent yeas, with the fading of the whole knife thing for me, a small SAK is about all I carry now. Its actually rare that I carry a dedicated knife these days. Going fishing or camping, I use my old Buck 102 woodsman as my only fixed blade. Almost all my 'other' knives are gone, except for my old Christy knife that is more for sentiment, and my small Schrade dogleg with stag handles that Glen made.

Out around town, the SAK classic is in its keyring leather sheath. It opens packages, cuts twine, whatever.

Hehe I see your posts in the sak subforum
Just thought it was cool seeing such a turnaround in thinking. Not the mindset per say but the tool choices :p
