I ordered me a maxpedition bottle holder from Brian Andrews shop, and then went and ordered me a cocoon pouch and sholder strap from maxpeditions website cause I couldnt leave well enough alone. My naglene will go in it nested in my GSI cup untill I make up my mind between the 40 oz klean kanteen and Guyot. Im stoked Ive wanted this setup since I saw joezillas review.

I was deciding between this and a Jumbo Fatboy, after all the strap, malice clips and cocoon pouch, spent about the same, but I really liked the size and function of the bottle holder kit, so I pulled the trigger.:o

So, who else has this setup? Humor me with pics, and tell me what you guys think!

I'm debating the whole Guyot/kleen Kanteen deal as well. My thoughts were this- the kleen kanteen is a lot easier to drink from. I don't know about you, but with the wide mouth on the Nalgenes I'm always dumping it on myself.

On the other hand, it is easier to pour stuff in the Guyot. I'm looking forward to seeing your setup. I want to pull the trigger on a maxpedition pack in the near future so I'd love to see what you come up with.

you can buy a splash guard now for the mouth of the nalgenes. really makes a difference.

No doubt the splash guard makes a big difference..........but you still need to get a splash guard.

I have the 10X4 Maxpedition shoulder strap but when I do use one I use the strap that came with my Kelty Hawkeye pack.
I have the GSI cup, the Guyot bottle, a cocoon pouch, an M-2 pouch and a small rollypoly.

Attached to the holder is the cocoon with about 70' of 550 cord and 4 CR123 batteries, another 50' of 550 cord rolled and zip tied, the small rolypoly and two large malice clips in the back for belt loops. The M-2 pouch is on my belt next to the bottle holder along with a small pouch from Tactical Tailor for my NovaTac 120T flashlight.
I plan on picking up a small first aid kit to store in the lid of the holder as there is plenty of room left over.

I've got the splash guard for the bottle but don't use it much. I prefer the bottle sans splash guard.

Im hopin there is enough room for a round tin to be in the lid on top of the nalgene to store some fatwood powder.

I am super happy with my 27oz klean kanteens, but those guyots with the wide mouth sure are practical.

I have also added the M-1 pouch to hold my fire kit alone and other small items....Great kit rides good, very comfy... and I removed the 97OT and SAK PE OHT

Great setup. Here's a few pictures of mine.

Great pics! I've been wanting to put together one of these maxpedition bottle holder with guyot based kits for a looong time now, just haven't gotten around to buying it all.

Yeah.... I really like Tony's setup and have been wanting to get one myself

J ... what's the cocoon pouch for ????

How do you like the SteriPen?

My only concern with it was filtering out floating crap. Do you you have to make sure you find a clear water source to use it?
