Maxpedition

Maxpedition's stuff is well thought out and super tough. Can't beat it.

The prices for their stuff at "Wally World" are WAY too high. Much cheaper thru Ebay sellers.

For a smaller EDC type bag or a dayhike, maxped cant be beat. I actually prefer camelbak if you're into alittle bit larger bags or 2 or 3 day backpacking/camping trips. Take a look at the camelbak bfm. IMO that bag is the best out there.

any one know that wallmart. com sells maxped stuff...weird

That's generally the end of a company's QC right there. Wal-Mart demands more product at a lower price every year you deal with them. So, unless Maxpedition made one hell of a deal that Wal-Mart usually frowns on... :thumbdn:

Clicky.

Aaah the intricate laws of supply and demand... Good article, very insightful:thumbup:

Thanks,

The product is hands down top notch, I have had a Jumbo for two years and carry it everyday, and it still looks like it did the day I got. Not sure what will happen after Wally World get their mitts in them, hopefully the quality will not suffer.

Wallmart tends , to say the least , sell products made in China . There has been some rumbling that Maxpediton has been doing this , but as of now their quality is tops.. good stuff.

If they just sell stuff off of Wal-Mart's website, everything might just be fine. IF you see them in Wal-Mart stores you can fully expect to see the same price or higher and the QC will tank in a year or two. That's just the way Wal-Mart does business.

Back when Wal-Mart came to Maryland about 14 or 15 years or so ago, you would see the big, yellow smiley faces and the PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA signs all over the place. You could expect to see dramatically reduced prices on commonly available items and that was the carrot. They put all of their competition out of business and then came the chinese stick. So it goes.

As above re quality and design. I have a Condor II pack and ,aptly for this forum a RAT wallet. Top kit.

Is the Condor II good for a day pack? Some pictures I see it looks perfect:), some I see it looks huge:eek:.

I know this is somewhat hard question because it depends on taste and need, but in general, which is better, condor 2 or falcon 2?

I may be alone in this, but I never kept any Maxped gear for very long. It tends to be way too heavy for the given payload, and no more durable than lighter more versatile tac-gear from BHI, EI, or TAG.

I had two of their packs/bags, a Proteus, and a variety of pouches and I never found anything that I particularly liked about them. :thumbdn:

I find mine perfect as a day pack, though could carry more if required. Its the most comfortable pack Ive owned. Weight for me isnt much of an issue with this size of pack.
For many years my carry included an 81mm Mortar tube and about 40lbs of ammunition, so this is a breeze;)

It isn't really large, very average backpack size actually. Not a small pack, but not a huge one.
It's fairly deep, but it has 5 cinch straps, if you're not carrying much it compresses nicely.

I'm really happy with mine. It is very comfortable.
