Hey Guys...

Had a hell of a night tonight

We were getting ready for my son's grade 8 grad, and told my youngest boy to go wake up Opa.. He came back and said that he was sleeping...

We were all in a rush and he knew we were getting ready to go.
I went in there and couldn't wake him up..I found him unconscious in his office chair...

I couldn't get a responce and didn't feel a pulse so my wife called 911 and I started chest compressions and mouth to mouth while he was still in the chair..
911 said I had to get him on a flat surface....

Not enough room in his bedroom and we couldn't get his chair through the door so I picked him up, wife threw the office chair on his bed and I carried him through the house and out onto the back deck.. Continued chest compressions and mouth to mouth and I could hear shallow breathing. Put him in the recovery position..
After a few minutes I rolled him back over, he wasn't breathing again so I gave him a couple more puffs and chest compression...

At this point I was so panicked I know I wasn't doing it properly, but did get him breathing twice.

Right after that a fireman showed up and got a pulse and my dad opened his eyes.. Ambulance showed up, checked him out, hooked him up on some fluids.. By then he was doing alot better,, but still really glossy eyed...

He was Really out of it and wasn't making sense even at the hospital...
He had a CT scan, and chest Xrays because I thought I may have broke his ribs..
CT was fine although they did find a small bleed.Dr. wasn't too concerned about it and they admitted him..

I left at 10:30, he had a sammich and a couple of cups of jiuce and was doing much better...
Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow...

Was a Hell of a night...

Please send him some good vibes, as well as Ren's son Andrew!

BTW..

I did make it to my son's grad. As soon as he was done I left for the hospital..

Eric, my prayers to your father and your family. A dark day indeed. Gonna have a long session with the Lord tonight.

Excellent work Eric, you gave your father another chance.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Good work, Eric! I hope your dad's prognosis is good. My mother lives just down the street from us. She's 85 and her bones are so brittle at this point that I doubt I could resusitate her without crushing her rib cage.

Eric, glad it worked out well brother.

Good thing you knew what to do, kept your head, and controlled the situation.

Hope he is going ot get checked and make sure he knows what and why...

He's doing better. :D
Tough old guy, he's up and eating after that!

You did good, Eric.

Well done, Eric.

Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery for your dad.

Eric,

Good job! Thankfully you had your wits about you. Your dad is in our prayers along with the rest of your family.

WOW! Good for you being aware and prepared. Hope they figure out a fix for whatever was wrong. Smoke up.

Outstanding work, Eric.

Your Dad will now be doubly proud: he has a son who can keep his head and do the right thing.

Best wishes,
