May have saved my Dad's life tonight !

Eric,

Well done and congratulations for your son.

You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Guys....

Thanks alot...

Well I'll tell you doing CPR is a Whole lot different when it's the Real Deal then doing it in a classroom...

I've been certified several times,, but when you've got to do it for real, Especially when theres an emotional connection EVERYTHING changes...

I know I wasn't doing it properly at first.. Took me a few minutes to get my $hit together....

It seems as though it may have something to do with his meds..
His Blood pressure was like 70/ over something..Last time this happened it was 55/ over...

Anyway Thanks Guys,,
Will keep you up to date...

Good work, man.
I've taken a CPR course, with renewals, for about 8 years now.
During the first course, I asked the instructor, "What if I do it wrong, or break ribs, or something. Could I end up making it worse?"

She said, "If they're not breathing, or no pulse, they're already dead if you don't do something. You can't make dead worse. Anything you do, even if it's not 100% correct, gives them a better chance than doing nothing."

Thanks guys...

Yaa we were told the same thing....

As being re-certified.. Yes,, mine has lasped.. I will be getting it renewed!!

As a matter of fact I'd like to see it taught in schools..

Everyone Graduating from High school should or Could be First Responder certified...

Imagine that!!!

THanks

i wish you and your family well, i hope he gets back on his feet soon.

good that you were there at that time.

Good work. Performing CPR is not an easy thing to do. Using to save a loved one is even worse. I'm also glad to hear you had the impetus to get your father onto a hard surface. I don't know how many times I've tried to give CPR instructions to someone and when I tell them to put the patient face-up on a hard surface, the caller balks saying the patient is too heavy or that they don't want to get them out of bed. I can't say, "How badly do you want to save this person?" but believe me, I'm thinking it.

God for you, Normark. I hope your dad has a good prognosis and speedy recovery.

Exceptionally well done, Eric! Congratulations to your dad, you, and your son.

Great job! I was a CPR instructor for many years and I am really glad to hear that your dad is doing so well. Very emotional time for you but you kept your head. Prayers for your dad and you and your family.

wow, Eric

Sorry to hear this, but well done. Love and light from the Great White North, (just down the road from you).

Thats a happy outcome.

All of us need to keep a CPR mask or 2 in the house and car for quick access. I keep one in the car. They aren't spendy. It keeps you from placing your mouth directly on some nasty stranger's mouth, and can keep dad's stomach contents from ending up in your mouth.

Glad to hear that he is doing ok, and glad you were there to help keep him here with you and your family. Prayers sent.

Glad to hear that your Pop is doing OK now Eric. Good work on saving him. Now I know I need to learn CPR too myself it has always been something that I thought would be good to know but never took the time to get the proper training. Funny thing though I have made time for self-defense training.
