maybe a little OT - How old are you?

i'm told that when i was adopted, my parents-to-be just picked a birth date out of the air, since no one really knew how old i was...according to that guess, i just turned 39.

according to those who know me--well, i can't possibly be a day over 12

the real number could be anywhere inbetween, i suppose, except for the fact that (unlike Disco Stu) i *do* remember disco...unfortunately. (it's OK, i've had therapy for that and am now completely recovered.)

i know, i know--a lady never tells her age, but then, i've certainly never been accused of being a lady by anyone who really knew me.

i'm looking forward to forty next year. i'm gonna have a blast of a party and wear my purple ultrasuede miniskirt and my soft black leather boots and dance myself silly. life just keeps getting better and better, so forty is something to celebrate.

yeah baby!

47 here.....the years fly by at this point.
I still have a few good knife purchases left in me.....

Is that THE silverwing? Where have you been hiding? I've missed your posts. And you don't sound a day over 25.

thanks for missing me, that's very sweet. i've been extremely ill, and every time i thought i was back on my feet, i got knocked down again. i'm definitely on the mend, but it's a lot slower journey than i would like, one that does not allow me as much computer time as i need to keep up with all my BF friends, i'm sad to say. but i'm working on it!

as for sounding 25, well, sometimes *i'm* surprised to find myself planning my fortieth birthday blast. i don't feel 39, and as you know, i certainly don't act it!

who knows, maybe my adoptive parents chose wrongly, and i'm really 38, or 37, or ?? -- not knowing my own exact age has made me realize how true it is: "you're only as old as you feel"...think about it. what if you did not know exactly when you were born? would it change how you feel about yourself?

not knowing keeps me from labelling myself too strongly with the old number 39. there's nothing i feel too old to do, and plenty i feel too young to know about yet.

thanks Hoodoo, hope today smiles on you!

I wouldn't change a thing; I have more knives every year.

My girlfriend - actually fiancee - told me that if a man (she said nothing about women) is not married before he is 30 there must be something wrong with him. Well I still have a couple of months before there is something wrong with me
wink.gif
That makes me 29.
