Maybe School isn't so bad, after all. :)

That kid is awesome. I don't think running away from home was smart, but he had a dream and followed it. I can definately respect that.

I am totally in to help out with some sort of collection for that young man.

he has some balls...

i dreamed of that, but knew that i didn't have near enough experience...

and looking back i know for sure i really knew nothing at that age that would be of any use...no real gear at all either.

good on him for trying it...

Obviously he needs to graduate from H.S.first, but this guy might be a Special Forces candidate after boot.... what balls.

I'm in for any kind of knowledge we can send to him , be it in books or as said a collection...

Damn. Thats sweet. 12 days all by yourself at his age. I am very impressed.

Wow. I'd like to think I could have done as well when I was his age... doubt it.

"He didn't want the weight of a toothbrush or toothpaste. He didn't bother with soap."

Me? I'd gladly carry those extra few ounces just so I didn't have to have fuzzy teeth and smell myself.

"His mother said he looked — and smelled — like a hobo." Does his Mom smell a lot of hobos?

I'm glad he survived. So many times, these stories end in tragedy. Now he needs to man up and face Jr. High.

I'd like to see this young man write his story. Many live their whole life and never do anything this interesting. He does need to protect himself and his story from being ripped off and made a TV movie without his permission or input.

How cool is that!
I'm glad he's ok

By the way,High School could be worse than wildernes survival.Sad but true :D (i face the first five days a week...)

:D :D :D

Like his mom said, he left to find the trail home. My Dad would have said, he's now a man and I agree. Tough young man and woods wise too. I'm all for donating a little to help him achieve his dream.
